DG- Are you in charge of the character names for Eriador too? I absolutely hate them and wonder when they will be changed and by whom. AWESOME set of units!

i think Frodo would do better as an agent.

Why should he? But I'm sure Frodo and Sam will come to the game somewhen because I saw their names while looking through some files.

    Pew pew!

I've been playing Eriador lately and decided to come on here to see whats up. With Stainless Steel, Empire Total War, and the assortment of RTW mods... Third Age is something I end up playing when I get into a fantasy mood and I always want to play as the little guy ergo Eriador. With a structured system like you want to implement, I will be very happy.

At the risk of upsetting DG further and to dangerously belabor my point...can we assume that the re-united Arnor will have a a different look and feel than Gondor? Personally I'm a fan of Gondor, but I still think Arnor has closer roots to Numenor and would be interested to know if DG has a different inspiration in mind. I don't even need to know what that inspiration is nor do I think Arnor needs to be stronger...just more royal maybe?

I have an idea for a unit for Arnor, what about a AOR unit from the Shire. What about an organized hobbit Swordsmen called "The King's Hobbits". It's a Hobbit in an Arnorian uniform, a sword, and shield. Pretty much, they are Hobbits who have sworn loyalty to the new King of Arnor, and serve him wherever he calls ...

That's kinda cool actually. Put them on ponies and you've got Knights of the Shire.

They'd look like small Sean Connerys with pipes in their mouths as they ride. *in Sean Connery's voice* For the Shire lads, chaaaarge!

Hmm, i suggested something quite similar some time ago, though I still think as archers they would more likely find a useful place in Arnor's army - plus it would be traditional in so far as Hobbit archers served in old Arnors armies. Nevertheless they could haver armor, sword, shield, "uniform" and organisation - as heavier archers than the standard Eriador hobbit, fit for melee.

EDIT: But the other proposed variations would be great too!

Those new models for Eriador looks amazing, I can't wait to have the revamped version of Eriador in Third Age!!

What about something like an heavy archer/swordsman for a hobbit elite unit?

I think it'd have to be a light archer/swordsman unit. These are hobbits we're talking about.

it's not really the height that is the issue. more. . . Hobbitness.

I want to see hobbits look like they are wearing normal men's clothing, so they have really big helmets falling down on their faces and pants dragging on the ground. Now that would be cool

I really, really like what the community has done here. Have only tried 1.2. I look forward to seeing the mod develop and deepen. I very much look forward to the new Eriador faction.
