    Austria

Average heavy cavalry and infantry of the line are bolstered by excellent hussars and light infantry.

Austria is a European state at the junction of West and East, and their strongest field being light cavalry and infantry reflects this. Austrian Line suffers from a vanilla status, being without a bane or boon to claim as their own save for a slight emphasis on the bayonet over musketry. Support in melee can be found with their Hungarian Line while a limited contingent of Dutch offers help with musketry. Overall though Austria must trust in its proliferate light infantry for shooting.

Light cavalry outshines their heavier corps, with the quality of their hussars attesting to how you can't improve on the original. Experiences in battling the Ottomans has tailored the Austrians to feature a stronger arm of musket-bearing cavalry than their fellow Christians, although a respect for cold-steel holds itself with their average quality Cuirassiers and Dragoons.

sounds great. are they going to be included in the newest IS update? i think it would be great if the IS team would include pom's german faction mod into the new patch just like you guys did with the sons of the danneborg.

I found some info which you need about the navy. During the reign of Joseph II chancellor Kaunitz supported the idea of small fleet against the pirates from north Africa/Ottoman provinces. There was only 3 small warships at service and few gunboats. In October 1797 the Treaty of Campoformio assigned Venice to Austria. There were two "fleets" after this date. The original 3 warships commanded by army colonel (!) James Ernest von Williams based in Trieste. The Venice arsenal provided 4 frigates and 2 smaller warships commanded by Andrea Querini from Venice nobility. They didn´t cooperate very well.

In 1801 Archduke Charles of Austria was appointed War and Navy minister. In 1802 the independent Austrian navy was borned and Archduke Charles was appointed General Inspector of Navy (he never commanded ships, he was great land field commander). After 1805 defeat the navy was reduced to 3 brigs. The real era of Austrian navy started in 1816.
