We designed the Earls of Dale to represent the mounted nobles, but since the weapon of Dale was the longbow it made more sense to have the bodyguards as an infantry unit.

I understand that, but perhaps mounted archers? I also restate my original query; is there a way for me to change them to mounted for my own games?
The problem I find is they are mildly useful in a battle. They aren't fast, and their numbers are too small to justify using them as an archer unit against armies of mass filler units. It ends up being all filler no killer. Rhun's mounted archers will toast a generals unit. My thoughts are scattered right now, but it just seems to make sense that a general would ride a horse if they were available.
Stammesverband Stursberg
Disgruntled Goat didn't want them, and they kind of clash with the concept. Balancing issues etc.
You could I suppose, there are a lot of unitmkaing tutorials around--- good luck
The bardian archers are overpriced and pretty worthless.
Easiest general unit in the whole game to destroy, and the least bang for your buck.
Much like the decision to replace Dunlendings with snagas for Isengard, this is just one of those design choices that make me scratch my head.
This might have been asked before, alltough it wasn't in the FAQ.
Is it normal that I don't see any armour upgrades? I upgrade my men, and don't see them wearing mail. They have the upgrade shield in their unit card tough
The upgrades work, they just aren't visually represented.
These units are simply impressive, well done Hross.

That is awsome King Kong! You give me back the will to play as Dale!
What would make a totally wonderful bodyguard unit would be the Monaspa BG unit from Broken Crescent or something similar. Its still a HA unit, but with some brawl in them to make them useful in melee, which is pretty consistent with all the other bruiser BG in the game...
Cause i see some factions redone them, could be possible to give the oppurtunity to emerge as The Kingdom of Rhovanion?maybe it could nice idea something like Arnor
Most Chivalrous commander 2020-2021
Rhovanion was a kingdom very similar to the Eotheod or Rohirrim.
Rhovanion was more southern then Dale.
Dale is already as powerful as Rhovanion was.
There are no good things to rebuild (like with Arnor), sure targets can be made, but it won't feel great.
Rhovanion wouldn't add that much to the game.
Most of the descendants of the people of Rhovanion are in Rohan/Calenardhon at the moment.
Rhovanion can be added in a mid Third Age mod. Maybe 1000-200 T.A., but I don't see the poin to add Rhovanion in TATW.

I wish Dale had better Early Era units... In the first 20 turns you rely on militia and archers....
Love the rangers.
