    Default directory path

why can't i change the directory path in any of the 3.3-3.5 installers? they all say c:\program files (x86)\myproduct, and the text bar is locked so i can't change the path.

The installer is looking for your registry entry of Medieval2. It then sets the install directory accordingly. Why would it be necessary to change the installation path?

i'm not sure why it automatically gave me the pathway to the folder myproduct, because i don't have a folder called myproduct. sometimes when i download mods they will have an old directory name (ie. rtw used to be activision and now it's creative assembly), so i need to modify it. my point is that, my game is in the sega folder not myproduct, and the installer won't allow me to change the path name.

That is rather curious, the registry points that way.
My suggestion: install in the given directory and then move the directory to wherever your mod folder is. Yo will have to change the path of the desktop short cut as well.
