Is there anyway to ensure the troops don't become sprites when the Camera isn't near?
Set the detail to Highest. Then sprites won't ever be used. But it'll strain your computer, of course.
The dense forest will probably be a bit denser than this in terms of tree canopies. It'll be based the ancient Hercynian forest that occupied much of modern Germany and Poland, which Pliny describes as being full of huge oaks, unlike the vanilla Germanic forests which are mainly conifers ( a more modern change).
If you set detail to highest you'll see a significant slow down with RS2 as we have no level of detail models....I'll produce an alternative version of the DMB that sets the sprite distance to further away (probably more like 100m) for those with higher spec systems.
