    Default my drawings

I always wanted to become an architect and for that you should know how to draw too (free-handed). Anyway I opened this thread just to show to the others my work. I will upload some pictures in this thread and I would gladly hear any criticism about my works. Why? Because that way I can become better and better.

Uploading pictures in a moment. Any input is highly appreciated.

Your drawings look like antique pictures. They're fantastic!
Ok, the buildings are kind of "blocky" and "edgy" to put it like that but nonetheless they look really good.

    Got any more?

Yes, posting them right away. You must take in consideration that those are not scans but pictures taken from my cellphone or my camera.

Also the models and buildings are real. I just drew them.

    Very nice hard smooth lines.
You're spacial awarness is phenominal, I don't mean to masterbate your ego but it's rare to see such natural talent in draughtmanship outside visual art practioners (like me)

    Now for the bad.
You got the rigid lines down, but line quality (to indicate weight and structural strength) is rather poor, I suffer from the same ailment as I also studied to be an architect first. The best cure to my mind is to practice with inks or charcoal or something that doesn't allow you to do lines, and remember that lines don't exist; it's just the illusion of two plains meeting.
Also textural difference (another architectural habit I'm affraid), it's your nice rigid lines again, there needs to be a juxtoposition or at least a distinction between man-made forms and natural forms. Nice soft, smooth lines describe soft forms, like leaves. Broken heavy lines can describe bark.

I hoped I helped a bit, or not at all I just like to hear myself talk.

Yep, some architects said that to me too about the lines . And they told me the exact same methods (charcoal or some pencils that don't allow you to erase them), so that makes you an expert . I guess I should practice more.

    Thx for the input.

Those are pretty good. Really nice work. I can't give you any advice because I'm not an artist, but you should definitely keep on doing this

Those are amazing. Now if you can draw buildings like that from the Classical times i'd be truely awed and you'd have a new worshipper.

Thx. For me every opinion matters, professional or not.

Well, I might go some of these days to ancient sites that are nearby (or far when I buy my own car) and draw the buildings there. Thx for the idea.

Edit: Tomorrow will upload 2 other drawings. I couldn't take a picture of them now because it's dark.

I must concur with the sentiment given by Lysimachus. Modern architecture is not my cup of Earl Grey, but pre-Edwardian architecture is a gem in my eyes. Regardless of taste, however, the actual drawings are of superb quality. You really do have an excellent eye for proportion and symmetry. I pray that you will go far.

Those look very good and I see you know 1 and 2 point perspective techniques. The only advice I could give you(for the first and fifth picture you posted) is to spread the entourage a bit more not just near the buildings.
    Other than that great job.

Where'd you learn to draw like that?

I could never do that. I'm the kind of sketcher who is messy, scribbly and noone knows WHAT it is I'm drawing until I finish.

Everyone around here knows me as the "awesome sketch/doodle artist guy", but I swear I'm so awful compared to everyone else I have ever encountered who can even lift a pencil the right way around

I had completely forgotten about this thread. Sorry for not posting any other pictures. I'll post some soon (my camera doesn't do the job properly and I don't have a scanner).

Some lessons about 1,2,3 and more points perspective and some lessons about graphics did the trick .
