    Default unit traits

I've seen this idea bounce around a lot in the yuku forums and hadn't seen it here so i thought I'd share it and ask for your opinions.

if each unit had its own traits which were gained by actions during battle (for example one unit of line infantry would hold better squares when some line infantry units better bayonet charges because you had ordered them to charge many times in battle) do you think it would help in creating more attachment to your men and urge you to keep a unit alive or improving game play in other ways?
here's some idea on what these traits would be like:

I don't think they necessarily need their own traits. However, I think the experience system needs changed, in what it takes to get experience and what experience does for the unit.

it would mean that you actually look after each unit
    For King and Country
    Every one I give you
King George his most Britanic Majesty

The fighting 95th, First in the field and the last out of the Fray

Why don't they have a Prussian Flag instead of German

A good idea... but to clarify, I would not much like a CIV4 system of "choose what the unit just gained experience in", but basically a more detailed version of the ancillary system already in place, akin to TES4: Oblivion, where routing a unit while in square formation would give a bonus while in square formation, killing an enemy general gives a fear bonus etc.

it shouldn't go to just the company but the whole regement

the screen shot was a bit misleading, i don't want to choose unit traits, the ones in the picture were just examples of what these traits would be like.
what i meant by "gained by actions during battle" is if you use the same unit of line infantry for bayonet charging in many battles they should get something like "experienced bayonet chargers: when they are given the order to charge, the men in this unit never have any doubts ; +1 charge bonus, +1 melee attack bonus)

Yes. If they run they should be labeled as cowards and traitors to their King (ie. me).
