In vanilla Empire Total War, and all mods exept my Sinking ships mod, ships sink when they are 10% underwater. (10% counting the sails). Yet, this number is really low to me. I think that the captain didn't evacuate the ship because there is some water in it. He would rather do anything to save the ships, and if he can't, continue the fight untill the gunpowder gets wet.
I raised this value to 90% in my first mod, then 40%. But these values were still too high creating many bugs, and ships that were fully underwater continued to fight.. That was funny yet !
I tested it for personnal use at 30%, I liked it but there were still minor issues (a rank of cannon underwater and still firing !) so I decided to port it lowering this number to only 20%.
Now ships sink when they are 20% filled with water which seems to be a more reasonable value.
How did I edit it ? In ship stats, thresold_to_sink from 0,1 to 0,2
