Right now it's the vanilla turns setting, but probably with the next update it will be 4 turns per year, with 1 winter turn when everything turns to snow and campaign movement will be greatly hampered.

I just inserted the .exe, I assume those other files aren't necessary since a mod wouldn't call any of the other mod directories, but it's been a while since I bothered with this patch.
For some reason the 1.5 does add hard-coded improvements into the game. I used to think that it only fixed the Kingdoms campaigns but there does seem to be an important .exe update as well.

Something I did discover though is that "Hoplitai" is listed twice in the working file and once in the not working file. Not sure what relevance that has if any. There's another few discrepancies but none of them bore fruit en masse, so I'll try and see about working back more delicately tomorrow.
I've invited a bunch of you guys that I respect and trust, and hopefully we'll be able to sort this out together (and trust me that I do not do this lightly).

One thing you might want to try to do is find the precise point, or "character limit", at which the game begins to crap out. I am curious about the relevance of twice-listed "Hoplitai". I originally added it when making placeholder unit descriptions, as a convenient one-word title which I could cut and paste and then rename to its relevant unit names. After all of the unit descriptions were added I thought to remove it.

What will really mess with your mind is when you find that 'character limit' breaking point. Because it may crap out at that point, but if you add more characters to another unit description it may accept them there.

1.5 is required. It is right in the install file.

graphic error on balearic slingers. Maybe related to bones assigned badly

anyway i just won an epic battle outside Syracuse. I used the tactic of Scipio in Zama lol! 95% of Sicily is under Carthage
Sig, is correct i cannot build structures in Sicily, except in Lilibaeum and Syracuse? ( i mean not the farm and trading post which can built in every settlement)

EDIT: anyway great units Luciano! +rep mate

Mutter, the slingers should work properly, too bad I cannot test at the moment

I'll double-check what you said about settlements. You should be able to build everything, as long as you have the proper prerequisites for it. Recruiting units, however, should be possible only in the culturally punic areas.

PS. How is the gaming experience?

so so. i m using tyrrenians because i m trying to see their ship i made. But tyrrenians has not the possibility to build ports. I tried conquerering Roma (i saw they had a ship on the coast), but when i conquered it i have not the possibility to use roman harbor, because requires me 60% of etruscan culture. Etruscan culture does not grow up after i occupied Roma. I made something like 100 and more turns and etruscan culture in Roma, is always stable at 0%.

    Of course they do.

In this beta I haven't added the culture-spreading buildings which will come with the next beta, and with that version the mod will basically be done. I left culture spreading buildings for last, sorry. I didn't mean for this to be a completely playable version yet.

What is the amount of inhabitants required, to upgrade the town from basic level to next? A tyrrenian city coast had 8000 inhabitants (after lots of turns) and i can build just the farm and trading post

Are you sure you are using the latest version of the mod? Sorry, I'm highly skeptical about it. These restrictions for settlements were fixed in the recent patch, and the farm-textures were also fixed and removed. Yet you have both the restrictions and the farm textures. I strongly recommend you redownload the .exe, make sure that your Launch file is pointing to the right place, AND that your CFG is pointing to the right place. Your CFG may be pointing to the previous version of the mod.

I am trying to get back my corrupted Kingdoms setup. In the meantime testers please do not let up and continue reporting. And please post some good screenshots for Banzai.

I am busy downloading now. Real life was interfering. Do you want only feed back or should we try to fix some stuff as well?
For instance those errors about the missing building levels, example: faction umbri has gap in building prior to etruria_fanum_voltumnae
That is easily fixed. Or this one: Could'n find level name description string for trait(GallicSobriety) level(Gallic_Teetotal).

This will actually be a good opportunity to test the latest version of Geomod as well. Got a lot of new bells and whistles.

    Edit:
    First impression:
    - Thought my install was corrupt: got stuck for nearly two minutes on events.idx
    - No BAT file, no shortcut: see 'Basic CFG and BAT' attachment for basic bat and cfg file

Installed new cfg and export_units file, deleted bin files

    Notes:
    - coastal smoothing needs to be finished
    - gaelic tribe: first farmlevel without benefits for 54,000?
    - low contrast on unit card writing
    - incorrect\unsuitable water_surface graphic
    - no difference between Central Italy, the Alps or the Balkans areas

    Other:
    - fmv folder not necessary unless files are changed
    - fonts folder not necessary unless files are changed (nobody has managed so far)
    - Loads of unnecessay vanilla files (but then it is still a beta)
    - both geography files are still in the root folder, haven't tried to do a siege battel yet (or any battle for that matter!)
    - Loads of unnecessay PSD files (but then it is still a beta)
    - including the map.rwm file in an upload is wasted space!
    - including string.bin files in an upload is wasted space!
    - lookup files are not necessary for this version

    Urgent:
    - if I don't delete the string.bin files I can't start a game! Every time!

    Edit2:
Came across an error with video memory. No idea what happened. So I deleted the installation and installed again, installed new cfg and export_units file, deleted bin files. ZAP! One second of splash screen and I am out. This usually indicates some problem with the data\sounds directory.
Just for fun I removed that directory. It works! No sound obviously.
And the event file is slightly smaller then before.
Next try: only with music and sfx files - ZAP

My guess: something wrong with the setup for file creation of the dat and idx files.

    Sign, I have a problem.
I installed the mod on a fresh, 1.5 patched copy of Kingdoms. I started a campaign with the Tyrrheni, but when I pressed the end-turn button I got the following error message: "Medieval Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit"

I guess that there's something that I have to delete among the original game files to fix that issue, right?
