Default Detailed Install Instructions for Imperial Splendour

Before you start MAKE sure you got a vanilla game and no traces of unsupported mods.

List of Vanilla files in \Data folder so you can make sure you got no other mods before running "
    Verify integrity of game cache".
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Vanilla files & folders inside \data folder:

    campaign_maps (folder)
    campaigns (folder)
    ui (folder)
    all_scripted.lua
    anim.pack
    battle_scripted.lua
    battlepresets.pack
    battleterrain.pack
    boot.pack
    groupformations.pack
    language.txt
    local_en.pack
    main.pack
    models.pack
    movies.pack
    patch.pack
    patch2.pack (new in patch 1.5)
    patch_en.pack
    seasurfaces.pack
    sound_non_wavefile_data.pack
    sounds.pack
    sounds_animation_triggers.pack
    sounds_campaign.pack
    sounds_music.pack
    sounds_other.pack
    sounds_placeholder.pack
    sounds_sfx.pack
    subtitles.pack
    supertexture.pack
    terrain_templates.pack
    testdata.pack
    ui.pack
    ui_movies.pack
    voices.pack

Before you verify integrity of game cache you need to:
Delete all files inside C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\empire total war\data not listed in spoiler above as they are not vanilla game files. Also go into C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\empire total war\data\campaigns\main\ and delete "scripting.lua and startpos.esf". Now you are ready to verify integrity of game cache. Remember to take backup of your mods like Blood and Smoke ect. You can put them back in the data folder when you know you got Imperial Splendour working correctly.

How to verify integrity of game cache:
Run Steam and right click on "Empire Total War" and select "Properties". Select the tab "Local Files" and click the "Verify integrity of game cache" option.

    For XP users:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    1. Download Imperial Splendour 2.1

    2. Use 7zip or other programs suitable and open
"IS 2.1.rar". You should see a folder called data and a file called user.empire-script.txt. Select the folder data and click "Extract" and point it to C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\empire total war\ (You should not be asked to overwrite anything)

    3. Locate
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\empire total war\data folder. Inside there you should now have 3 additional files to your vanilla files. They are called "Imperial Splendour DB.pack", "Imperial Splendour Media.pack" and "patch_is_text.pack".

    4.
Locate C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\empire total war\data\campaigns\ folder. Inside there you should now have a folder called "imperial_splendour". In addition to the vanilla folders listed in the spoiler. Inside the "imperial_splendour" folder there you should have 25 files including "scripting.lua" and "startpos.esf".
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    Vanilla folders inside \data\campaigns folder:

    episodic_1
    episodic_3
    episodic_5
    main
    main_2
natives - if you got Warpath Expansion
    5. Use 7zip or other programs suitable and open "IS 2.1.rar". You should see a folder called data and a file called user.empire-script.txt. Select the file user.empire-script.txt and click "Extract" and point it to C:\Documents and Settings\(Your User Name Here)\Application Data\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts (The folder called Application Data may be hidden so go here to make it visable and if you havent deleted user.empire-script.txt located in the script folder you may need to overwrite it.)

    "mod_NoTrails.pack" into C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\empire total war\data

    5. Once you have done that you need to go into

    user.empire-script.txt tutorial
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The file named "user.empire-script.txt" is used to load your mods. And they way you make this file will determin what mod is loaded first. If you do this wrong you will have conflicts and have changes a mod makes overwritten by a another mod. Below is an example of how to do this.

    Example of content inside
    "user.empire-script.txt":

mod "mod_NoTrails.pack"; //Loads after and overwrite the ones below this.
mod "mod_BSM_4_Light - IS2.pack"; //Loads after and overwrite the ones below this.
mod "Imperial Splendour DLC Enabled.pack"; //Loads after and overwrite the ones below this.
    mod "Imperial Splendour DB.pack";
    //Main mod.
mod "Imperial Splendour Media.pack"; //After testing we found this needed to be on bottom.

Remember to look on the main menu screen. If you got the correct mod loaded it should say "Imperial II
    Splendour
" on the screen with "version 2.1" just below to the right.

Updated for Imperial Splendour 2.1 and removed the IS 2.1 folder since a new version of the file got uploaded without it.

    Date: 15th of October

Do not use the DLC descriptions as there is no DLC version available yet.
