Well, since the ETW forum has the RAGE!!! thread to post images made in MS Paint that are about issues that are funny or frustrating, I figured I'd start an analogy thread for NTW to see what people can come up with .
Customer goes to the mall and looks around for a new washer:
Customer: "Wow... I like this washer 1.0, the design looks perfect."
Sales Rep: "Here let us sell you this washer."
Couple of days later...
Customer: "The washer it was broken when I used it!"
Sales Rep: "We'll send out a technician periodically to make sure it keeps running."
Customer: "But, it really is broken. It keeps ripping up my clothes... I don't think a technician can fix it...?"
Sales Rep: "No, worries. The technician will visit you when you have a problem."
A month later...
Customer: "Damn it man, where the have you been? I've been waiting for you to fix this washer for a month now!"
Tech: "Sorry sir, was busy figuring out how to work on that washer."
Customer: "Well... HOP to it man!"
Tech: "Right away sir."
Couple of minutes later...
Customer: "Well? Is it fixed?"
Tech: "Ummm... fixed? No... it's broken. I can get it to tear up less clothes, but really... by design... it may continue tearing up SOME of your clothes."
Customer: "Grumble... grumble... Get out!"
Two months later...
Customer: "ARGH... this friggin' washer!!! I called the technician 6 weeks ago and I haven't heard a damn thing from him!!!"
Goes to the mall just to get away from the washer...
Customer: "Doo-de-doo... ..."
Peeking through all the different store's windows... comes up to the store that sold him that washer....
Customer: "What?! Are you frickin' kidding me? They have Washer 1.5 for sale...? And they say they have all problems from washer 1.0 fixed? ... won't tear up clothes... Come on...!!!!"
Walks into the store...
Customer: "HEY!!! What's this with Washer 1.5??? You sold me that broken washer 1.0 over three months ago, the technician hasn't fixed and you're selling washer 1.5 without giving me a trade-in on washer 1.0??? WTF?!!??"
Sales Rep: "Sorry sir... it states exclusively on the receipt, according to the manufacturer, that there are no trade-ins allowed."
Customer: "But you sold it to me all messed up!!!"
Sales Rep: "Well, I guess you should have done your research."
Customer: "But everywhere I looked they gave it 90%+ ratings?!"
Sales Rep: "Well... that's not my problem."
Customer: "FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU... UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU... UUUUUUUUUUU...!!!!"
