Thread: Question on Icons

    Default Question on Icons

I was wondering if anyone here has any pictures of Roman or Greek logos and symbols?
I am actually referring to the actual ones the Romans used, if not really nicely rendered, customized logos modders have created.

In the movie Gladiator, at a few scenes when Commodus is shown working at his desk, you could see a logo on his chair - it looks similar to the House of Julii logo, only that it's gold and there's also an eagle standing inside those... horseshoe shaped leaves. So does anyone here have any pictures of that kind of stuff?

Btw what is the name of that plant anyyway?

The plant is called a laurel wreath.

Moved from The Workshop to Vestigia Vetustatis, our history forum.

Actually the plant is a laurel, and it is in the form of a wreath. The laurel wreath was, in Republican times, a symbol of honour; it was adopted and used as a crown by the Emperors

Yeah, I wasn't clear about that. I meant that that specific plant was a laurel wreath, not that the variety of plant was "laurel wreath".
