Curia Hostilia: Consulate of Marcellinus and Postumus

As the year almost had past Quintus had decided it was time to go back to Rome. He needed to be in Rome before the end of the year to put his candidature up. Arriving ones more at the huge curia doors he opened them and entered the Curia.

The present senators looked at the man who walked in and started to whisper to each other.

Senators as it has been so long since i last have hear from you i decided to end my task in Iberia and return to these great halls to put forth my candidature for the next year. And it looks like i arrived just in time. It looks like the senate has been paralysed in my colleague and mine absence. I swear i could hear someone shout "If only our Praetor was here" when i was out side of these great doors.

The Praetor has put nothing to vote for many weeks and we have basically ground to a halt.

senators, it seems to me that we are currently voting on sending a consul to Greece to fight the Illyrians, but they are not in Greece! They are north of us they besiege Patavium, we must not forget that

I agree. We must send someone to fight those Barbarians! Consul Postumus, would you use the troops to drive those mongrels out of our clean and peaceful lands?!

Consul Postumus from Pataviam engaging their main field army whilst Claudius hits them on their flank.
They'd roll up like a persian rug.

It is a sound idea. How about this:

I. A Consul shall receive Imperium to drive the Illyrians out of Italy, and then march across the Alps into Illyria herself.
II. The Proconsul of the East shall invade Illyria from the South, trying to combine his stategy with the Consul's.
