Thread: World Map mod 1.5

    Default World Map mod 1.5

Though more of a spin-off than a sub mod I decided to include it here anyway. I have made a version of my 1546 campaign that works with the vanilla version of M2TW. This is designed as a map mod for anyone wishing to make a mod of the whole world.

    It can be downloaded here:

It only works with vanilla M2TW.

In order to get the sound to work, copy the sounds folder in your main data folder over to the mod folder.

I've updated the map so that it now uses the same map as the 2.1 version of Eras Total Conquest.

The world folder, world.bat, and world.cfg all have to be in the 'Medieval II Total War' folder (default location ''C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War'').

Quick question, if I install this to vanilla m2tw, then, if I play vanilla m2tw the map will be like the one for the Conquest Empires campaign?

    That should work.

This mod was made so other mods could use this map, so it's just the map.

    Update:
Thus far I spent several hours trying to port my units and animations into your 1500 mod. I really wanted to play the game as you meant it to be played, however since you did not include your animations and your complex start game setup made it impossible...So I've moved my efforts to your MAP mod.

I just started porting your map into my mod and it worked
As far as I can tell you've done an excellent job, and one way I can verify that is by the fact that a flood event occurred during my test campaign and it was represented in the exact location indicated by the script. My big map never did that and that was always annoying...
Also, with exception of two provinces in canada the mod ported into kingdoms 1.5 error free. So unless Falcon has something extra ordinary in his mod schema, you've given the community a wonderful gift with this map.
I'll post pics later...If you need any help with stuff regarding your mod let me know, I have time this summer. Your map has made it easy for me to put my Korean, Chinese, and Japanese factions into a more logical placement. I'm really grateful for that.
So as of now I will get my factions placed on your map locations and test AI movements, particularly as it relates to AI going to Americas, Australia, and alike. I will return with further updates as I move through the aforementioned.

    Update 2:
I finally had the chance to weed out a few unspecified errors which actually were Province naming errors not picked up by the trace logs...
Now that I've corrected any province issues the game runs smoother than ever with your MAP.
I presently am trying to see if the Americas can trade with Europe...

    Update 3:
Just added the Jerusalem and Antioch factions to the map...
A french ship sailed from Florida to Milan...
No trade between America and Europe...
Erased the slave faction eliminating all errors, villages which you have a lot of turn to towns after turn one<ultimately putting a fix on any hard coded slave village conflicts>
