    Default just finished fallout...

as a good person...then I realized that I haven't seen at least 1/4th of the map. No quest took me to there. Should I have looked for them instead of following the main quest?

I'm thinking of restarting a game, this time being a murderer...but well without the story my will to play will be much less. Would it be worth to see explore tose other parts?

Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

    Depends on your gaming personality.
I enjoy discovering things in Fallout 3. Even walking and sight seeing.

yeah me too, but the story just pulled me in...and I thougt it would be longer. But then the game ended. I think I'll load from the point where the "pride" is preparing to attack the enclave....and just travel around with my power armor.

I found my dad within 3 hours of gameplay. I was just exploring and there he was >.<
So I had to restart and the game didn't really manage to pull me in after that. I preferred Oblivion.
What I liked most in Fallout was the exploring bit.

I Like to just walk around it doesn't take long to find quest and you see things like when I first saw the huge tenpenny tower I told myself I have to go there and then when I found Dunwich building its like wtf is that
I check into small hotel a few kilometers from Kiev. It is late. I am tired. I tell woman at desk I want a room. She tells me room number and give key. "But one more thing comrade; there is one room without number and always lock. Don't even peek in there." I take key and go to room to sleep. Night comes and I hear trickling of water. It comes from the room across. I cannot sleep so I open door. It is coming from room with no number. I pound on door. No response. I look in keyhole. I see nothing except red. Water still trickling. I go down to front desk to complain. "By the way who is in that room?" She look at me and begin to tell story. There was woman in there. Murdered by her husband. Skin all white, except her eyes, which were red. I tell her I don't give a . Stop the water trickling or give me refund. She gave me 100 ruble credit and free breakfast. Such is life in Moscow

at level 20 you can get an explorer perk which gives every location on the map, but really its huge amounts of fun to go trekking, play the game again as an evil or neutral character and minimize your fast traveling but if you need to go to the same location take a different route each time, trust me i know it sounds like a choir but some of the things you stumble across and find make the game truly great.

Same here, it was almost a MMORPG second job going into the wastes, sneaking around and bushwacking enemies for loot. Good fun.

    Beats my RL job.

Have any of you guys ever been walking out in the middle of nowhere at midnight and you see the big human figure walking around and said OMG what the hell is that bigfoot? even tough it was obviously a super mutant.

When I first played I had found out you died at towards the ends so I basicly went all over the map and even after hours and hours of playing I still hadent seen it all. And after the first play through the game isent nearly as fun.

I think my favorite thing that I have discovered was the Chinese Remnant Ghouls in the Arlington food packing plant. It's definitely worth exploring the map though, you can find some interesting things.

I hate the end of the game, it made playing it so pointless! I was dissapointed, until i heard of Broken steel. Does anyone know if you carry on your old char or if you have to create a new one?

Just load a save game before you have finished the main quest.

exactly what happened to me last year when i played it. also started as evil but stopped soon. the game was awesome but too small. i wish the map would have been huge. oblivion i dint even like so much but i played it 5 times as much as fallout because of the map that wasnt even that big anymore.

then you've played only 25 percent of the game, there are many interesting places which are worth visiting, many unique items, interesting quests... though exploring becomes really annoying when you have very strong character even on very hard(on LVL 30 with all add ons installed,on hard difficulty and with Best armor possible) i was able to kill a deathclaw using only Fisto! in VATS mode without serious problems which really transformed the game into boring "grab steampaks and go-go-go!" action, only Ghoul reavers and Hellfire troopers were more or less challenging opponents, imo oblivion like enemy system would have been better, while in vanilla Fallout 3 is well balanced with add ons installed it becomes significantly and some times boringly easy(except point lookout which had offered real challenge with its dose of adrenaline) especially if you complete mothrship Zeta first and grab alien weapons and begin using them in wasteland where they are just like Grim reaper's scythe, kill almost everything except some monsters with high durability in few shots which really makes the game boring, especially if you are playing normal or at lesser degree on hard. so my advice is that if you are playing on normal switch to hard if you complete Mothership Zeta early. in overall i advice you to begin the game for second time and spend significant time on exploring, making side quests and just wandering into wasteland

Definitely explore alot, most of the cool isn't even touched by the main quest, alot of cool is just found...

Including that one ultra creepy vault with all the hallucinations, and crazed survivors... That place was damn creepy.
Like really really creepy, i swear it changes itself around to keep you wandering lost, and confused through the halls aswell...
