Nop... it's in the extreme west part of Zona Sul. It's probably the third best known peak of Rio.P.S - Took that picture last week.

as the tread is in hold since more than one month, so I'll take the next turn

Not that hard, shot in 2011 IIRC. This building is just in front of another much more renowed, just inside one of the most popular place in that city.

Ah, was a good guess then. They have renamed the tower then since I was there and I don't recall seeing that smaller skyscraper standing there either. The bridge and the buildings on the right corner looked familiar though.

    Next one:

I cut part of the image out to make it more challenging. I will reveal more of it for the next clue unless someone can name this place before it.

yep it looks German to me (although the general appeareance is somewhat shoddy), but I can't locate it. It must be some place in east or northern europe (see the blonde girls for instance).

Well, Finlander is obviously from Finland, a country which has ties with only one ex-communist state, Estonia, so I say Tallinn...
I am just kidding; actually, one of my decks (all of them are inspired by a Baltic theme) has almost the same picture in the 4 spades card. It's a place in Tallinn, but I have no idea about its name, considering my lack of knowledge about the Estonian language.

Prince Regent George nailed it down; it's indeed the harbour of Tallinn built under Soviet regime of which architectular style many of you recognised. It's huge, the last time I was standing there on it's massive stone and concrete platform watching over the storming sea I felt myself so very tiny there. Such a nice experience.

    Whole image is here:

So, if the railway was built in "imperial" times, it can only be Russia or the Balkans (Austria-Hungary, Osman Empire respectively).

I doubt Ivaylograd is anywhere near Brazil

well I had another check around, it is plenty of winded rivers around Ivaylograd, so instead of just trowing names in I give up

Wild guess - the Maritsa River as the river valley forms part of the Sofia-Istanbul railway.

    Nope, it's not Maritsa either.
    So, let's sum up:
    It's west of Ivaylovgrad.
    The Imperial Railways pass nearby.
It's bigger than Byala but a bit smaller than Maritsa.

    argh man, I'm getting crazy

the first picture makes me think of Arda river (the dam I mean), but Arda seems not to be enough winding for the second picture

and anyway, I can't see any reference to this darn railway !!!

As an ex-frequent traveller there, I am pretty sure these are the Thracian Tempe, the narrow valley of Nestos river in Thrace, Greece.
