It's a fort in the USA.

It looks sunny in this pic, but you're right the place is not tropical.

Ask yourself what body of water could we be looking at. There's multiple candidates, but I think that should narrow things down further.

Hmm I expected this to be hard. The statue is the key, I think. Rest assured I would not have posted this if it wasn't a world-famous person.

The statue makes me think of Bolivar but the church tower feels more British colonial than Spanish colonial to me.

The sculptor would be glad to hear it.

No takers? You just need to take a gamble at what country it's in. There aren't that many options.

I have tried this on several occasions and now giving up. The palm tree looks a lot like the fan palms that are native to the states of Arizona, Sonora, and both Californias. But nothing else really matches in the picture and palm trees are constantly transported across the world anyway.

Err, I wouldn't have thought N.America the most likely location for a Simon Bolivar statue?

Just when I was about to give up after looking at way too many statues of Bolivar I find the one. No idea why it was so painfully hard to find this one but it's Sucre, Bolivia.

Well done. I admit that wasn't easy!

Ok I've actually been there, so no challenge. I'll let the others try figure this out, unless of course they get stuck for too long

Ok, it's the waterfalls at Coo in belgium. It's near a gnome themed amusement park called "Plopsaland" where recently some guests spent 17 hours in their carriages when their rollercoaster train got stuck at the high point of the circuit.
