    All correct.

Baugnez, Belgium. The monument is the Memorial for the Prisoners of War Baugnez.

This monument lays along the main road between Malmedy and Waimes near the place Baugnez.

Just after noon on Sunday, December 17, 1944, Battery B of the 285th Field Artillery Observation Battalion came under fire from Kampfgruppe Peiper at the Baugnez crossroads. They subsequently surrenderd and between 2.15-2.20 pm, as the entire group stood prisoner in the field, machine-gun fire cut them down where they stood.

Two prisoners survived to tell the story. Further information on this incident could be found at the La Gleize museum.

The building in the background with the white star is the Baugnez 44 Historical Center.

On 17th December 1944 SS men of Kampfgruppe Peiper murdered 84 American POW’s.
As a way of perpetuating the memory of the massacre at Baugnez, the museum is built on this spot.

The “Baugnez 44 Historical Center” features several dioramas including one on the massacre. Visitors are also be able to view Word War Two material and original wartime documents several of which are directly liked to the massacre. They see also films and photographs of personnel as well as wartime vehicles and mannequins.
For current visiting hours, please visit the website of the museum.

Are you familiar with it? I know the area quite well because I'm from North-Limburg. Very impressive place.

Never been there, but I've heard of it. I guess such places are impressive in a way, though the tidiness and serenity somehow are in stark contrast to what they are about.
