Senators and sacred fathers of Rome.
Now is not the time to take part in petty fights that only distract us from the business at hand. I condemn the senator for leaving the Curia when he is needed to make decisions as Quaestor. Since he seems incapable of taking an official condemnation of his actions, that he is in fact irresponsible, it brings his ability to act in an official capacity into question. But this is not the time nor the place for that.
To placate the Tribune, and the rest of this house, taxes need to be lowered in Rome. Let the spending take place in the cities and provinces. The cost of the projects proposed already left 10,000 denarii in the treasury, unless my maths is wrong.
Honour the gods, but let us act quickly. Fortuna smiles on those who act with speed and boldness. Let us praise her by acting in such a way that pleases the goddess.

Senator Festinius, i don't quite understand the bill.
Where is the grain to come from? is this to be extra to what we already give them? should the payment for the grain come from the coffers of Rome? or his own pocket?
can you please clarify the proposition.
ooc; i'm not being awkward, i genuinely don't get it
A slave arrives with a message.
Senators I write to you in haste. I have not broken any law yet when I come back I very well may be killed. But if I do come back I have the power to investigate you all for any reason I wish. This will bar you for running for office, and I will investigate every one of you just before the elections. My other solution is to exile me with one legion, the X Primegina, to Africa and I will secure our borders and make sure we have the grain to give to the masses for free in my bill as stated. I am planning for an invasion of Libya, thats why I went to the port city of Brundisium, but I cannot leave Italy. I am proposing this bill though...
Lex Equestris
Equestris shall be exiled to Africa for 10 years, starting after his term ends, and he can only take the X legion with him. He must take Libya in the next 5 years or may be recalled. When he comes back he is barred for running for office again for another 5 years.
Sincerely,
Quintus Equestris Cicero
Claudius almost chocked as he heard Equistris's message.
That crazy man...How can he be foolish enough to stand...to menace the whole Senate?! A mere Quaestor for Jupiter's sake!
He will investigate all of us for any reason he wishes? Give him a legion and send him to Africa? Is this man gone mad? Tell him he should return at once or be exiled out of Rome and all it' s cities and provinces. No man or woman my help him, he will be hunted at as an outlaw.
He is not only insulting the Senate but the people as well.
I VETO his motion.
Quintus face started to turn red of anger, did this fool really think he would be trusted with a legion after his cowardly flee out of the curia hall.

Caeso stood up and started speaking
"wat is he thinking?....that we should grant him a legion after this display of disloyalty to the senate and the people of rome?....this man is mad"
his voice became more urgent
"i say he must return at once or be gone forever"
"puh, he's a disgrace to all romans" he said at a lower voice as he sat himself down again
Challange Macedon, and die trying
senators, this is another of his increasingly erratic behaviour.
I no longer believe that he is good for Rome.
And i would like to raise a motion of no confidence agaist our Quaestor Equestrius
seconded
Challange Macedon, and die trying
A propose formal legislation to remove the Quaestor from office.
Lex ex officio Cicero
Quaestor Cicero shall hereby immeadiatly stripped of the powers anf privileges of the Quaestorship.
Senator Cicero shall be summoned by the Senate back to Rome to answer questions regarding his recent actions.

Second the lex ex officio Cicero. How ever i would like to see him appear in the courts of Rome after the vote of no confidence has passed.

After hearing the message a slave does the unthinkable before its too late
A letter arrives, I Quintus Equestris Cicero, investigate all of you.
The quaestor can investigate any member of the senate for corruption. If a senator is exposed by the quaestor, the senator shall be barred from running for office for one full term but is still eligible to be suffectus for said term
REMOVE THE SLAVE, this is turning in to a circus.

Senators, senators! Have we anything to fear from this man? Are we corrupt? Do we have secret deals behind the curtains of the Curia hallways? Let him have his fun, he'll soon tire of it. If he wishes to abuse his power, let him, I have nothing to hide. And neither should you! Our investigation is the most beneficial solution, because he is not out of our sight, and he is not with a legion (which by the way is a preposterous notion if ever I heard one).
I would like to see how the Quaestor can investigate our actions from Brundisium. I request that he compiles a report on his ongoing investigations and delivers it to the Senate post haste, so that we can judge if he is actually investigating every member. An announcement of investigation is not the investigation itself, so unless we see evidence of such, including reports on why a Senator is being investigated, I would assume that no investigation is taking place.
More so, I would like to remind the Senate that the Quaestor, while he enjoys the protection of his office, cannot be compelled or brought up on charges in a court of law. That is why we must pass our No Confidence vote in him.

I would like to ask the Praetor to interrogate the slave that brougth us Cicero' s messages. Use all necessary means to get him to talk. And if you know where to find him i suggest you send some guards to arrest him and bring him back to Rome. Just so he would not flee out of Italie.
Seize that man.
Quintus shouts to some lictors.

"Hey, hey, don't shoot the messenger! The slave is just bearing the message. He's probably glad he's out of the house for once. We have to take out the man who gave him that message, not the messenger himself."
