Those cities are for the strategy map only. The battle map buildings are currently hardcoded.

A suggestion. It would be great to include the Syrakousai as a small faction. Pergamon too, yet i imagine the timeline is to high (272?) to iclude this faction. Perhaps a rebelion in pergamon?

    Have you seen this trailer?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7mhtMLqZ30

The documentary Hannibal At Trasimeno is part of a larger project of scientific popularization related to the Battle of Trasimeno, one of the cruelest and most famous episodes of the Second Punic War. Based on a careful historical reconstruction, the documentary takes the viewer on a fascinating journey through the places and events related to the memorable clash between the Romans and the Carthinaginians on 21 June 217 B.C.E.

I'm not able to be active on the forum, my studies absorb all my time and I will have my military obligations after the summer.

This looks fantastic! the animation looks something from a Rome 2 TW game but that would be dreaming.

It' s historical animation projects like this that Creative Assembly should be working with right now. I anticipated that after RTW was realeased and the TV series Time Commanders was screened, the game series would become more historically accurate and cater for strategy players. However with Sega in the driving seat it has just chugged along in the same modus operandi.

But you will see extensively detailed bronze cuirasses like that one eventually on Roman officers or generals. The most interesting difference aside from anatomical detail seems to be the hinges over the shoulder, which I find really interesting, as if it is a fusion of the Italic cuirass and the Greek. I'm not sure whether we would keep that particular detail. The cuirass on which the present depiction was based is late 5/early 4 in Etruria. Actually that cuirass has much less detailed flank musculature than the one you've posted, but it does feature it. We might look to have Martelus make a small modification. But I hope you'll understand why I'd prefer to reserve a cuirass like the one you've posted for higher-ups.
You might be too conservative in reserving such cuirass only for higher-ups, such as generals. After all the Greeks used them for people much lower than generals, so having it be somewhat common among the equites does not seem unreasonable to me.

Btw, Etruria was more hellenized in some ways, and less hellenized in others. I'm not surprised they have your rough cuirass, but then again they have many pieces of rough, native italic art in contrast to fine greek-inspired art pieces. Still that does not dispute the existence of those art pieces, or their frequency.

By the way, is that cuirass truly of early 5th century make? In addition to the high quality worksmanship and detailed musculature, it is one of if not the earliest cavalryman's muscled cuirass I've seen. Or, I can not now recall one that would precede it.
It is indeed extraordinary in its Latin provenance, or in its early dating. But the circumstances of its finding that point to a 5th century dating seem indisputable (you can see them yourself, there's a whole archeoloical page assigned to this musculata and all other artifacts, such as other elements of the panoply). Archeologists who've dated this find assign it to the 5th century, and all of the other artifacts from the same location point to an extremely early date: an athletic discus (it's either 1st century BC, or 6-5th...). The helmet, which looks EXTREMELY archaic.

home from us in peace. We seek not
your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch

and may posterity forget that ye were
    our countrymen."

We have a prototype script that allows the player to designate a potential successor to the current faction heir.

    From Twitter:
Finished work on prototype code that gives players a chance to choose the next faction heir. - Atilius

So it's probably being tested now.

One question I have as to how the Romani will be implemented. The Romans only held offices for certain terms. I believe most offices were elected every year, with higher offices available to be re elected in ever 2 - 3 years, and others every 10 years. For the offices who are allowed to lead a Roman Army, does this mean that a character will only be able to lead an army for a max of 4 turns?

Looking forward to this. Keep up the good work.

    From the preview:

    Propraetor
At the end of his term, a praetor's imperium will be extended, allowing him to continue in command for two or more years. A character's imperium expires at the end of his term as Propraetor. A propraetor had the same duties as the praetor in addition to, or in the absence of, his replacement. The term of office of a propraetor was indefinite.

    ...

    Proconsul
At the end of his term, a consul's imperium will be extended, allowing him to continue in command for several more years. A character's imperium expires at the end of his term as Proconsul. A proconsul carried out the same duties he had as Consul, usually when no new consul was assigned his province. The term of office of a proconsul was indefinite.
