What ever you saw, wasn't Hannibal Barca but probably a generic Carthaginian general. Was it in the general's preview? If you read the text there, it merely states that the most famous C. general was Hannibal, not that one of the models shows Hannibal.

Afaik EBII will have historical correct generals/FMs at game start, but will not spawn any historic generals/FMs later in the game. Why for example should Scipio Africanus appear (perhaps even with his historic correct biography as trait), if history takes a completly different turn and Rome becomes a vassal of Epeiros by 260 BCE. Also to have Hannibal Barca appear via script around 230, although Carthage might have lost all of it's territories on the Iberian peninsula and was at peace with Rome the entire time during that specific EBII campaign, seems awkward.

I'm wondering myself, if there will be ancillaries for famous personalities such as the historian Polybius, even if they are born after 272 BCE?
