[HoI3] Can't Play HOI3 On Steam

I've finished downloading, but whenever i try playing i get the message "Game Currently Unavailable, Please Try Again At Another Time". I've looked up solutions to this problem and none of them apply to me, such as running as administrator and having C++ installed. Could this be something due to the fact the game has not yet been released in the U.K? I thought the digital release was universal as nothing was mentioned on the steam page that said i couldn't play this game if i was from U.K.

They are common solutions to this apparent 'error message' i am getting, but if it was an error surely waiting until another time would make no difference and hence it is being quite misleading and giving the impression it is not an error at all (why i am thinking it has something to do with release date). What should i do, i really want to lead the third reich to glory

Hi Trevor, I don't know how steam works, with its download policy, Maybe you should try the Paradox forum with your question, Although you may have to register your game with them to get tecq help?

solved this one myself, for some reason the hoi3 i downloaded on steam came with microsoft visual c++ 2008 SP1 redstributable, when it was meant to come with the 2005 version i downloaded 2005 version and all is good

Thats good news Trevor. That visual c++ business is I think causing a load of grief to people trying to get their games to work.
