Finally got my game working, after many trial and tribulations I am using latest hot fix.
My game speed seems okay, although scrolling the map at high speed setting is a little jerky.
I decided to go with the 1936 historical campaign, playing as Germany, gives me a bit of time to get used to things.
trade agreements are a pain on manual, switched to auto diplomacy. pop ups are like machine gun fire
    I like the tech tree.
production. sliders are not great but there is a fix coming shortly.
The game is not optimised for multi core at least not for quad, I think upgrades will come in the longer term on this score.
So far I like the game have played a year and 4 months and no ctd issues
Heck of a lot to learn still, but I think trade needs more working on.Also The wording on the trade agreements is confusing am I selling supplies or buying them, because if the agreement is canceled the deal is reversed in its terms.

I used AI Diplomacy, and it was annoying. I don't want Italy to ally until after I defeat France. Italy will ally before with AI diplomacy.

I think they are planning on adding auto trade and sliders and such later. I do not mind managing trade. I managed my trade in HoI2. The AI is too dumb to manage trade, at least in HoI2.

No auto sliders for production was annoying at first. But observation on that front makes them manageable. I give consumer goods a little more then is required, to deal with spikes. Give Reinforcements about 0.4 over to deal with any loss from supply craziness. I guess there is a user mod for auto production sliders on Paradox forum. Haven't used it, since I have adapted my game already.

Just wish the game ran faster on my computer.

Unplayable on my outdated system. Takes an hour for 3 months to pass.

Hi, just for share with you a "nice" bug...

When I try to save my game, I have a fatal error and my savegame is not completed. Result, when I load the last save, half of all the division (mine or for other nation) have disapear...

    So just two solution:

1/ never save, never quit the game and prey for no crash
    2/ wait for a patch....

    Great!

Really happy to see my big Reich in 1943 with no possibility to play with...

Hi marechalOYO, maybe try playing with autosave off/never, in HOI3, assuming you have it on! I never trust autosave in any games just do a manual save when you need to.

You can play HOI 1 and 2 and you will see that Sweden cannot enter a war nor will any faction attack it unless you cheat or mod it.
So they made Sweden this way and which only raises the question on what's the point.
Not true, Sweden does have an option to join Winter War against Soviet.

Anyway, is anyone surprised to see Shanxi Clique bliztkrieg Japanese in January 1937??

Weird game of mine, I was playing Italy it was 1938. I had already conquered Albania, Yugoslavia, and Bulgaria when Germany demands half of Czech all of the allies declare war on him. Now I am thinking Germany is screwed , its defending against Poland and Romania to the east France,Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland to the west and the British (large naval invasion) and Denmark to the north. Germany goes ape and takes everyone but Britain out. (by itself mind you) I was pretty impressed.

Lol, have not seen Europe War yet, but I just bliztkrieg Manchuko and Korea with Shanxi (I am Nationalist China) in six months. Funny enough Japan AI seems unable to produce many troops (I saw only 20 regiements in my whole campaign) and simply got crushed by Chinese force. I also saw Guangxi land on Taiwan with 12 regiements and crush Japanese force there. Anyway, despite impress by the Chinese AI I am starting to worry that I may not able to win Chinese Civil War with only my twenty divisions.

Nope. Haven't played HoI2 in ages. Last time I played, I made a small surface fleet as Germany, to supplement a medium Uboat fleet. And I declared war on the Soviets on June 21st, and Bitter Peace triggered on September 22nd.

3 months to gut the Bear.

    Not really fun after that.

Edit: I also started in 1936 and did not IC whore at all. Since that just made the game way too easy.

Yep, thought mainly for the alternate history scenarios, in nearly every other aspect HOI3 beats HOI2. I mean to me 1936-1948 is played out, I need something new. Thought I must admit getting the German Bund getting elected was a hoot. Like Germany need a more powerful ally.

    I miss choosing reseachers

Anyone know how can I view my units as figures instead of wargame boxes?

It is written in manual, perhaps you should check the manual first??

Anyway, go to "Option - Game", unclick "Counter".

    Thanks.
I dunno why should I read the manual. I never read it playing Hoi2 or any game.

    I hate manuals.

And why does Indonesia belong to the Dutch in the game even though it was Japanese in reality?

From 1936 ~ 1940 it belongs to Dutch.

After that I am not sure what Paradox is thinking.

By the way, it seems Communist China is buggy; even with all negative value and inferior tech one of their division can still beat two Japanese divisions - must be buggy, no other explaination.
