New Intro Movie!

Hi guys,
We have finally finished an intro movie we have been working on these days. This movie will be played, as the name suggests, every time you load the mod, in the beginning.

There is another little "intro-to-intro" video, but we haven't uploaded that yet. We'll let you know as soon as it is upped.

I like that there are baners. I don't know why, but I like it. Except somewhere near the end when they turn white because the English are routing.

I think it's very well done! I especially like the cavalry charges at the end!

Removing the banners now would mean remaking the whole video basically! (rendering and editing from sratch. Obviously, this can't happen.

I agree. When I firstly tried rendering with the banners removed, it was surprisningly not that good. I somehow felt it was better with the banners in. Strange, but true. Still, that routing banners near the end you mention... yes I don't like the either.

Hehe, nice notice, but not exactly true. In fact this video is captured from 10 different replays! I had to play both players in every occasion (yes, it was on a LAN in my home). Difficult to get what you want every time in a battle, even when you handle both players. There was one replay as the main fight, and many other scenes taken from the other 9 replays. Very hard to put them all in in a correct order to both match the music flow/tension, and not fall into mistakes (wrong order of what is happening).
In fact, if you look well, a few scenes are with much brighter sky than the beginning, since many replays were in the morning, while others in the sunrise.

nope actully Ai will try as best they possible could to not run into stakes they sometimes run into stakes ubt never charge into them unless it's scripted like in the battle of angicourt.

Hm...not sure about stakes, but they tend to charge into the pikes though, this is what I had in mind in my previous post. Pretty lame nonetheless.

Also yes, the banners seem to be a nice touch. Kind of makes you realise how colourful medieval armies really were without having to play a mod like Stainless Steel.

Cons:
-Some roughspots like clipping. (use fov to avoid that)
-No sound effects. You should have recorded them. It's easy to do with audacity. (it's a freeware)
-Banners. (It's my personal oppinion. I kinda don't like to see them in cinematic videos. )
-A bit too long for an intro movie.

Pros:
-Some truly impressive work on camera moves.
-Music is very fitting and beautiful.
-A lot of hard work. (ten diferent replays.. I mean.. wow!!)

My rating: 8/10

I don't know what you mean with roughspots, but I think that sound effects would've ruined it. The music and sound effects just don't go together IMO.

By that I mean clipping - it's when camera goes through objects cutting them off, witch doesen't look very nice. But that is because of M2 engine. By using field of view (fov), you can zoom in very close with out clipping.

True, but the amount of work forced me to not care about that part. I simply didn't had the time/mood/patience for that part. Besides, it seems they are not needed that much.

Nice point about ther FoV camera, I should have done this, but this is basically the first video we make
