that they are, i believe that vaegirs arent that popular(just to state i think they are 2nd best faction) is because they dont stand out in anything and so they dont really pop out at you, and rhodoks are best for dying

Nords have the best infantry in the game - Huscarls, and are quite good in siege battles.
Swadia have the best cavalry - Swadian knights
Rhodoks have the best archers - Rohdok crossbowmen
Vaegirs are good all round
Khergits have the best horse lancers - Khergit horse lancers

If I had to choose in an order for me that would be:

1. Nords - Ofcourse.
2. Vaegirs - Great knights as i find them very effective.
3. Swadia - Same as above on less effective.
4. Rhodoks - They are less effective in battles and are easy to pick on. They lose far too easily
5. Khergits - Fast and nimble but in my opinion die quickly. And aren't that effective either. When i was in with Khergits, my Khergit army didn't do much. When they killed 10 I killed 30.

I will go with Khergits.
Their lancers are death machines on horse and pretty useful in taking walls too.

And those Kherghits just won't die. Ever!

In my latest campaign I had about 17 Huscarls, 3 Swadian Knights/Men at Arms and about 23 Kherghit Horse Archers AND 30 or so Kherghit Lancers! It's ridiculous, they just won't die!

That is because Lancer is most easy trained highest tier troops.

They are great on horse, but once their horse die they are garbage.
