What's your point? This is a thread of which I don't see the purpose.

it's just amazing how long it takes to actually complete a campaign.. I've been at my H/H roman empire for weeks now! and, there's still quite a ways to go.

    daaaaaaaaaamn! that's all.

So? Do you want to finish a campaign in just 1 day? I would not think that to be any fun at all.

I love XGM as it is now.

campaigns can be a bit MUCH, with the AI goes nuts and has a zillion armys and there is no way to stop them, but then again the readme did say most games would be impossible to win...as long as it is FUN thats all that matters, and they should disable the cheats on this game excect remove fog of war

I think the mods may go just a tad overboard in the slowing down of the game, especially the ones that have lines of supply and winter campaign penalties and AOR barracks that prevent you from really expandin gyour military wiithout heavy investment in tiem and money, such as XGM... But at the very least, the campaigns ARE fun, so it's totally worth it.

This is kinda true though. I really only have time to play in the weekends, and even if I play all day for the whole weekend, it still takes one to two months to complete a campaign. And I play on M/M and half of reduced bonuses, so I can only imagine the kind of time and effort people who play on full bonuses and H/H put into the game.

But I don't really mind, or I wouldn't keep pouring hours into XGM. :p

I'm actually partial to that sort of play where it's either impossible to win or so challenging that it'll take me forever to achieve victory. An Europa Universalis vibe is what I'm keen to.

A game by Paradox Interactive. Grand Strategy, 1399-1821. Very good, it and Rome are my favourite games ever. Here's the forum for it.
