Is anyone else excited we will actually see the might of the Dwarves on the battlefield rather than as petty comic relief?

I think James McAvoy could make a good young Bilbo. He look Frodoish.

And definely Gerald Butler for Bard the Bowman.

And how about bringing back Christopher Lee to do Smaug.

I would rather prefer Hugh Jackman as Bard.
Christopher Lee would be great Smaug, but he is to Sarumanish, if you know my meaning.

I would give my left arm to have Brian Blessed play Beorn. He has the size and frame of a bear, he has an amazing booming voice and his eyes makes him look kind of dangerous, like he could really REALLY mess you up if you crossed him!

Christopher Lee they need to get Christoper Walken for Smaug. That man could read a dictionary and still keep me entertained.

    Clearly has his priorities straight.

I been thinking maybe Patrick Stewart would be a good Smaug IMO

    Definaly Gerad Butler as Bard

Christopher Lee would be great but I would think of him as Sarumon if I heard him play as Smaug

Maybe Christopher Walken for King Thranduil or something like that

Agreed, both are top of the line actors. Really couldn't think of a better smaug voice than Christopher Lee but, after playing Saruman so magnifficantly hearing him voice smaug may be a bit strange. Walken really doesn't have the proper dragon voice but, I would love to see him get a role somehwere in the movie.

    Clearly has his priorities straight.

And i think Vin Diesel's voice in Riddick is just awesome, fantastic btw. but i agree it might not fit Smaug...

    You sorely underestimate Hollywood.
Regardless, Walken is far too masculine to play an elf.

Apart from Peter Jackson who portrayed them as pussies in the films lul.
