So we have confirmed a cross-dressing great Goblin and Tauriel the un-loreful elf-maid not having a romance with Legolas the non-Hobbit-loreful. Who mention Jar Jar before? Maybe she'll have a Jamaican accent...
At least this Benedict whassisface fella has the right sort of voice for a snooty vain evil dragon.![]()

Biblo looks awesome.
Bag end looks great again.
Why the hell would Gandalf have a brown beard?
That chap looks well cast, some good decision-making.
Yep Pj does get some things spot on.
Maybe it just has a tint from the firelight? Seems greyer on the magazine cover. Certainly in LoTR he goes from scraggly grey to smooth white.

I KNOW MY NAME IS supposed TO BE MISPELLED
Please leave your name if you give me rep, so I can rep you back thanks
Gandalf's beard is definately grey.
That dwarf with the black hair and beard must be Thorin, it looks as if Weta are still pulling out all the stops when it comes to detail in the costumes.![]()
"his first and second cousin once removed either way" (A Long-expected Party, Fellowship of the ring)
Is anyone else excited by the Hobbit being filmed in 3d? At first I had my doubts, but after seeing those photo's on set of Bilbo and Gandalf, I can imagine how great it will all be in 3d. Peter Jackson will be using a brand new technology called "RED Digital Cinema camera's"... so this won't be some cheap, b-grade 3d movie with shabby effects.
I'm not enthused about 3d at all.
I second smoesville

About 3d - I have nothing against it if 3d is added as effect, not move made to favor 3d (if you know my meaning). Avatar was great in 3d, and there were no things made to jump out of screen or so as it has been in other. I probably will not choose 3d version, simply because it is 2 times more expensive.
3d can work out great (especially with those RED cameras and the higher framerates)... just as long PJ uses it to deepen the story he has; Bilbos hobbit tunnels, a dragon and flying eagles alone should look great in 3d
But once he gets carried away by his directors power and starts meddling around with the storyline only to show off what new things one can do with 3d, it will be the ruin of all!!!
(Edit: Oh, and please no "leasure park- barrel ride" - lorewise or no)
As Raiven said: 3d should serve the story, not otherwise!
