I can't wait for the films, three is a bonus.
I can't wait for the films, three is a bonus.
But that's the issue - its not the compression, the changes etc that of course any film adaption needs it the fact that after the first LOTR movie the spirit of the Books is thrown overboard as well.close as possible from the spirit of the book

But if the cause be not good, the king himself hath a heavy reckoning to make, when all those legs and arms and heads, chopped off in battle, shall join together at the latter day and cry all 'We died at such a place; some swearing, some crying for surgeon, some upon their wives left poor behind them, some upon the debts they owe, some upon their children rawly left.
Meh. On the contrary i think that, while many details are not to my liking, the overall "feeling" of Middle-Earth is quite properly depicted. But that is your personnal opinion and i will not argue over what you think.
Still, i think that it is damn wrong to spit on The Hobbit before seeing it.

I have deduced, from your knowledge of Middle-Earth background, that you read scrupulously History of Middle Earth. Given your close-minded opinion on various aspects of Tolkien lore in detriment of TATW interest and gameplay, I believe that
you are better suited to that reading activity, and suggest you go back to it.
I guess it could work for some guys with Battle of Middle Earth as well...
Fine I won't look for a reply - but I think you are confusing look for the actual motivations and actions of the characters...Meh. It is just that i don't want to derail the thread any further, it seems obvious that our opinion about what is tolerable and what is not is different from mineNo reason to turn it into a threadnaught^^

Fair enough as I just said in reply to your PM I am not in the best mood due to real life - I am sorry if I came across as rude or snide (and I think I did but I'll leave it up so this post makes sense).

Hobbit Trilogy Confirmed by Peter Jackson, Internet Rejoices
The title of this article made me laugh. Apparantly we're doing it wrong.![]()
Beeep, Sarcasm detector malfunction
I don't really get it. From all I know, all the White Council stuff was definitively planned to be included in the original shot!???
Hm. THIS was brought to the world by the admirable Howard Shore. No one will argue that the soundtrack is awesome. How can you be angry at the person that brought this to the world. LOTR fans are so spoiled its sickening.
The rest? Meh.
These are the people who think the movies came first and the books are a lame rip off.![]()
Just checked the cast on ToR.net. http://www.theonering.net/torwp/the-hobbit/cast/
The Necromancer: check (Cumberbatch will voice Sauron and Smaug it seems)
Galadriel: check
Saruman: check
Azog: check
Thror: check
Thrain: check
Frodo: check (and OMFG no! It's the crybaby again!)
Ergo, the whole Dwaren storyline and the White Council storyline is already set and included in the two original movies. PJ will make up a bunch of, I'm fairly certain.
No. That was my original concern when the rumours of a trilogy came out a couple of weeks ago, but it's clear that the original two movies will now be shorter than planned to accommodate the third, there isn't the time to shoot much more new material now. Whether or not it'll still flow as well remains to be seen...
Has no one posted the images of the Dwarven Warriors from Vlog #8?
Also, I highly doubt that Dain has a Mohawk as I'm pretty sure the Dwarf in the red armor with the hammer is him.

The costuming and "look" of the Jackson films has been consistently top-notch.
Ok, so how soon can we expect to see these units added to the Dwarven roster for TATW? I mean we have one picture now, surely that's enough to go on?
Joking of course, but it will still be interesting to see if KK and/or others decide to draw any inspiration for Dwarf, Dale, Orcs, Silvan, or other units from these films once we see them.
