How to turn off autosave?

Hey im tyring to turn off the autosave and you'll havve to excuse my ignorance but where in my total war folder is the preference.txt?

Hey look firstly you'll have to excuse my ignorance for this question.

How exactly do you turn off autosave?

I've been looking in my RTW folder for the perferences.txt but i cant locate it?

What am i doing wrong?

You will have to run the game at least once to create it.

In your preferences folder in the RTW directory.

If you have Vista and have UAC on, then the preferences.txt file is in hidden "VirtualStore/Program Files/The Creative Assembly" folder. You can find it by searching The Creative Assembly. Remember to search all and include hidden files.

the way i find it is just type it in the search on your computer

I finally found the preferences.txt by simply using search. I actually couldn't tell which TW game I was changing the preferences for between the three TW games I have. So, I just turned off the AUTO_SAVE for all three games. Using Vista I can't see the preferneces file in the The Creative Assembly/Rome Total War directory. And it makes no clear difference between which preferences.txt file I see when I use search. Why didn't I just think of using search anyway???
