Default Virgil's pics - The Chaos of Battle

These are some pictures I have taken using Webbirds Greek skins and Signifer1's Hoplite Animations. I tried to add blood like it would be in battle, to an extent. So here goes, I hope you guys like it =P

    The Chaos of Battle

    The Heat of Battle

    The Pain of Battle

These are all I have for now. If people have any constructive critizim, that would be great. Hope you like them!

Nice blood effects. Pretty good pictures. Ty smoothing the blood out a llittle more, and you will have even better pictures.

Those look good, the blood is def. good but still looks kind of fake and doesnt fit sometimes with the rest of the pic, but i guess thats somewhat inevitable when you have to add it in after. Good job though.

yeah, those are really good, but the blood can be more imporved, trying smuging it in and merging it to the person, it looks more like its on the body, not in front of it.

Thanks a lot everyone! Ill do that soon and edit me post to reflect it. I think I might do a Romans v. Barbarian melee where blood should be a plenty. Ill try to work on my blood F/X and thanks again for the praise!

Here is the next installment! i hope you guys like it!

    Summer, 183 A.D.

A barbarian raiding army has crossed the southern Alps and has been pillaging the country side.
Governer Plius Juliius orders Captain Gaius Acturus to destroy the raiders and restore order. The two forces meet in open combat in Northern Italy, near the city of Arretrium.

The barbarians swiftly rush towards the Roman lines

    They attack

Battle ensues and many are lost on both sides

Fallen, forgotten, the dead lay trampled by the living

The men look to their leaders, the Centurions, the Chieftons for guidence and support

In the end, it was the Romans who could claim victory, and the barbarians drive back from whence they came...for the time being...

More to come! Once again, any constructive critizim would be fantastic. Enjoy!

Constuctive critism, hmm, thats kinda hard. One thing I would like to see is an actual day battle where the blood is a bit brighter. Your first pics are day, but kindagloomy. I think it would be cool to see brighter blood in the heat of the day.

when dealing with a large amount of blood though, it's always gonna be dark. blood even looks black if you have enough of it.

i think wat he means is in the day the sun would be shining, so therefore, even though th blood will be blackish thereshould be a little shine on it.

Umm, why not, lol. I guess thats pretty much what i mean. I just think it would be cool cause most battles were not fought at night, and its just adding a bit to your pictures in my opinion. Switching them up, getting some variety in your pics makes them all good.

PS-How do you get rid of the blue text and all that stuff on the movie_cam?

when you activate the movie cam, space bar takes away the text, and num lock takes away the blue bar, so you have a clean screen.

Does anyone want to request any battles, armies or screens? If not I'll just do something else.

Yes but make sure you position the shot first, its barely possible to move after pressing space.

edit: you can of course undo it by pressing again though

I have not experienced that. I seem to be able to move the camera just as much as when it is engaged. Thats odd. Did you remove the fov ; in the text file. That could be the problem. If you want the CA manual i can email it to you.

    Here is the third installment!

    A winter in Germania.

A unit of Roman reinforcements has made camp for the winter but are soon attacked by Germanic night raiders. A pitched battle is fought in the midst of a blizzard between 994 romans and 2000 Germans.

Grimly, the Romans await the attack

Many Germans fall to the lone Roman Onager, and the many archers

Finally, combat is entered and confusion ensues as men are hit from all sides. The fighting is vicious and many are struck down.

Then, the Romans cry out in terror, the Beserkers have come. One by one, they decimate the Roman legions.

Nobly, the Roman captain steps forward and smites a fearsome beserker

The two generals meet in the midst of the melee, with the Roman coming out victorious!

However, The beserkers return, and gain revenge for their general

In the end, many are lost.

    But the Legions remain strong!

    And the enemy defeated

Hope you like the pics as much as I enjoyed taking them!
