A new way to catch members that insult other members via pm!

Way don't we use a smarter and better option then now. Like forward and replay. Can't a user still change it to how he wants it ? I mean there is a far better way to let other see clearly who insulted you and the text that you then can show.
Here is what I found out, maybe you guy's already know it or not.

If you get a pm form a user and you see that he insults you or anything else that is against the ToS.

What do you do ?

Simple no forward, or anything else?
You just click on your keyboard and print screen and then paste the pic in paint.
You upload it via a upload site then you Insert Image. And the text hasn't changed a thing. And will be a 100% just and right. Then you pm the picture to a moderator.

I will show a example right away, first I have to make it.

So what are you gonna do next time someone insults you ?

Or just forward the PM to a moderator. If necessary, admins can check the database to see if the PM was genuinely received. And when Sim upgrades the forum software to vBulletin 3.8x, people will be able to report PMs as they can with posts.

Now seriously, though, it's a good idea but it's ultimately unnecessary. Admins and mods are able to verify the authenticity of the PM and there shouldn't be any problems.

People who forward insults sent via PM are like children in the kindergarten, one of them telling the other he's a douchebag in private, the other one telling on him. Unless you're being harrassed, man up and just let it go or reply in kind. I received a few insults in PM too and I never forwarded any of them. Private messages are meant to be private, although mods and admins will not agree with me here.

just open up the screenshot, erase all text in the PM, and type in something new.

As Maяcel has said, it's relatively simple to manipulate a screen-shot. PM's have to be checked against the database as to their authenticity, by Administrators, before punitive action can be taken.

Hence admins can check the database for the actual PM. The forwarded PM alerts moderators to an insulting PM. Then admins check to see if that PM is genuine.

Currently I have to check the database if an allegation is made. I make sure to carefully craft the query so that I don't inadvertently see any information beyond the contents of the PM that was reported, and normally only do it if the recipient does report it.

vBulletin 3.8 supports reporting PMs. I plan to upgrade us to that sometime.
