David Mccullough is the man. If you have ever watched the HBO show John Adams, that is from his book.
Gates of Fire is another awesome book. You'll never look at war the same after reading it . It's basically required reading for us,
History Channel International has a series called "War and Civilizations" thats been going on recently. Only ever seen 3 hour long episodes of it, dunno if there are more or more to come. But one I recall was all about Austria and Prussia duking it out in the early to mid 19th century.
