Default PRO DEO ET REGE II: Campaign Map Preview

Greetings PDER-fans (if there are any of you left)!

I know many of you are wondering about the status of PDER II. Well, rest assured, progress is being made (albeit behind-the-scenes).

And today, we’d like to present you with a preview of PDER II’s all-new map. Stretching from Lisbon to Samarkand, Nidaros to Mecca, the map is the product of many months of research and work. We’d like to think it’s the closest we can get to reality within the confines of the game’s engine. From the rugged shores of the British Isles to the vast Pontic steppe to the burning sands of Arabia to the wild mountainous terrain of Greece, the map covers an enormous range of territory. So without further ado, let’s take a tour!

Yes, speaking for myself there is at least one fan out here. The map looks great, and I can't wait to march my armies across it.

Very, very impressive! This map looks gorgeous =)

Though there are some inaccuracies with the Scandinavian city names.

    - Oslo's proper name in this period was Áslo, not Kristiania (this is a late 17th century name for the city).
    - Bergen was referred to as Bjørgvin.
    - The region of Hordaland's Old Norse name is Hörðaland.
    - Aarhus' Danish Medieval name was Arus.

But as said, very impressive, really can't wait for PDER2!

Lol - I think you'll be surprised just how many fans you have out there Socal, PDER is still where it's at as far as I'm concerned. That is one awesome map and I really do look forward to giving it a whirl. Congratulations to all.

Not that there's the slightest chance of me leaving my current PDER 1.0a campaign.

It's 1164 and the Egyptians are mobilising to try and take back Antioch, and my spies tell me that the Sicilians are amassing stacks, which will need to be dealt with. Seems like the Empire has interesting times ahead - best get the kataphraktoi saddled up.

Not bad. Not as geographically accurate as some but very pretty.
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

    Hail!

The map is awesome, the first one, where the borders of Hungary are correct (except for the Hungarian mods).

    Some ideas:
    - I think the region of Várad should be renamed to Alföld
    - the region of Esztergom to Dunántúl and Esztergom renamed to Esztergam (it was the Old Hungarian name)
    - there should be a northern Hungarian province (Felvidék, modern day Slovakia) and its centre should be Pozsony or Kassa.
    - for the Hungarian units: cooperate with Csatádi's Magyar Mod team

    Very good map

I just hope you change 1 thing and that is the HRE will have almost no change surviving (wenn AI) if you see the number of provinces they have and look at france for example but if toulouse still is a faction then it probebly wont mind so mush

Keep up the good work! perhaps you could post a map whit the factions start positions ?

Very good map! I have few objections:
    1. Transylvania is a medieval land with vampires story. Don't use the hungarian name Erdely because all the people from Transylvania dislike that name.
    2. Wallachia or Tara Romaneasca is a important medieval kingdom. The capital was Curtea de Arges or Targoviste not Campulung.

Good luck! I will play this mod!
