I've had a look at this, it's verry nice and you obviously have put a lot of work in this.

I have 1 question, is it safe to asume that this can't be used to change a factions starting technologies and money etc...?

Just downloaded this and I am confused. How can I change the stats? I can only change the search filter whatsoever. What to press? Help needed.

Hey everyone whoever is having a problem with loading the latest patch1.5

I found a solution how to omit this particular problem, just temporaly cut and paste patches 1.2.pack to 1.4pack somewhere else, open DBeditor, select patch1.5 and tadaaaaa it loads patch1.5.pack...make any changes you want to 1.5patch, save, then paste patches 1.2pack to 1.4pack back to the folder, exit DBeditor, start the game and loads all changes...worked like a charm for me, should be the same for you

And for all people who don't see the changes in game, again that's because the DBeditor opens the wrong patch(either 1.2 or 1.3) and you need to make changes to the latest patch, otherwise those will be overwritten by the latest patch. And how to load patch1.5, well you can read above ...and oh yeah, to make changes in tables you need to uncheck "CA packs are read only"...well that's kind of all trouble I had, so I hope it helps all other people who have the same problems

    Good day to you all

P.S: I just registered to tell this, but I want to add that this site is great and thanx to all people who made DBeditor possible

How do you edit stats with this thing? It only allows me to view the stats.

EDIT: After reading through the thread it turns out that you have to temporarily move the patch2, patch3, and patch4 files into a backup folder and then load and edit the patch5 file. This probably applies to the other editor as well because it crashes when trying to select anything in patch5.

So is it safe to say that the modding community for this game is dead?

Just out of curiosity would this ever be updated so people can add extra colums into the data base. E.G I want to add extra offciers. That would be kinda cool. And also maybe get rid of the unknowns or something like that and put it with data we can understand.

You cannot add columns, because there is an only possible structure of data that is not moddable.

I have attached my last version of DB Editor (only for Empire). I have replaced most of all unknowns. There's some other unknowns would you like to reveal?

Came back from giving the game a break for over a year and seem to have run into some trouble with the editor. The problem is is that the stat changes I make to buildings don't see to take effect in game.

Before when I played TROM I'd widely edit the building stats, especially when a European faction had flipped to from monarchy to republic and they had a unique building built. I'd prefer to keep things historical and would add a bunch of Middle Class unhappiness to the unique building so a counter-revolution would occur and flip them back to monarchy.

I'm now playing APE:TI and Sweden went Republic so I naturally went into DBeditor and modded the Slott to have -50 Middle Class unhappiness but when I load my game back up it still says it gives Sweden +5 Middle Class happiness.

I also don't like how high the clamour for reform is on universities in the mod and those too do not change their stats when modified with the program.

    Anyone know of a solution?

Are you trying to edit vanilla tables, or are you making a new table and copying the texts over?
