Yeah I a Fn Cheap Skate and I do NOT like spending all my gold on 1000 troops!
I rather keep my gold and spend it on Hookers fine dinning and wine with fancy cheese!

As far as I know, the game ends in 1800.

The only way to play the USA is to play through the Road to Independence. Then, on Chapter 4, I think, you get access to a Late Campaign, that goes from 1783 to 1825.

More techs will indeed be added.

No chance right now of marrying off sons and daughters, as that's not in the engine. You yourself can currently add the Family Tree Mod, which at least lets you see who is what and where. I don't have the link, but it was made by Georgia Peanuts and is 100% compatible.

We like unit prices to be high, coupled with low maintenance. In fact, we might consider lowering maintenance even more. It's something we're looking at in the future. What it does is it makes losing an army a LOT more costly to a player, although actually upkeeping said armies isn't so bad. Like I said, we like it, and it isn't something we're going to change.

I would agree with reducing upkeep. And you're right, making infantry so expensive makes it hard for: 1) Minor nations to have massive stacks right off the bat, 2) Armies to be rebuilt quickly. Especially in the beginning of the game.

Its a virtue remember when you kill thousands of troops and slaughter the citys population you get more dread points and when you govern a city with High Dread they fear you so No rebelion.

Hey make it longer in terms of years 1840 and a few New techs!
Can you add a Pub i miss the Pub! Its was a great place to hang out with your generals leave them there long enough and they get vices.
Can Whore house be added this should increase Happiness and Income due to Whoring!

If your computer can handle it, I recommend the FX mod for IS. I'll see if I can find a link for you tomorrow, I'm too tired tonight.

I'm sure they will make the game longer when they have the chance. Modding is STILL relatively limited. I don't see the mod tools coming out for at least another few months.

Dam that sucks No tools I loved using G.E.C.K for Fallout 3 and made a few mods my self I focus on the Drugs and prostitution aspects of that game!

ok but lower upkeep costs sounds like a good idea.
Did you have the same idea with buildings too? that contructing them should be more expensive?

Yes, we did. The entire economic structure went through a serious and, quite frankly, kickass overhaul for 2.0.

Here's and idea: the farther Units are from your territory, the larger their upkeep costs become. While a unit is sitting in a city belonging to you or an ally, it's upkeep cost should be very low. Being in the region of you or your ally should also have a large positive bonus for upkeep. However, the farther away a unit gets from your regions, the greater and greater your upkeep should become.

Are there any plans to add a script to v2? I noticed this version did not replace the script file.

What about some scripted handicaps for the player? I understand playing on "Normal" campaign difficulty since it appears some of the diplomacy/aggression is hardcoded, but it would be nice if the player was handicapped in some other ways to make it more difficult.

Where do I find the map "empire total war \ data" to put the startpos.esf in ?
I first made sure I run steams "Verify integrity of game cache",
but I can't find the folder, not after a search through my program files, not with the vista-search function

can somebody help me out plz ?

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\empire total war\data

At least that's what it is for Windows XP. I'm not positive for Vista, but look around for a "Steam" folder. It should be in there.

It's all the same for Vista, except for me it's in the Program Files x86 folder rather than Program Files.

Be aware I have the 64-bit version.
