I work on Marines for some Nations to use in my SL-Mod, but US-Marines not made yet and Continantals i think i will look over once again, when ended the brits.
About the DLC-USMC i just ask myself, what resource they had? Found Pictures of the Continental Marines in with their green uniforms and US Marines from 1812, but their uniforms and hats were totally different from what CA made. I'm sorry to not find any picture for the time between 1794 and 1812. I don't know if Ca version fit into that time, but i suggest it is, if historical at all from times after 1812.

Very true I've never seen that hat being used. Like you said, maybe ints in that time frame between 1798 and 1812. I'm pretty sure they wore shakos up untill the 1840's. And by the 1860's they wore that other hat, I don't know it's name.

Thats the only thing I could find for the Russians.

    Spain:

    Spanish Marines

    Spanish Marines2

    Spanish Marines3

    Spanish Marines4

I also used pictures of two hand painted models for my mod, but I can't seem to find them. They looked similiar to the ones pictured above.

    Hope that helps!

And I look forward to seeing your US Marines! I was playing a custom battle last night using the Consitution with a 15 stars and stripes flag that I made, but then on my deck I had my marines dressed in green. I was a little dissapointed that it killed the "War of 1812" mood that I had going on

Oh yeah, forgot about them. I already found them, but don't really like their uniforms, both french and spanish.

I just ran a new search for Spainish marines and found some uniforms for infantria de marina. The problem is i found two new version but can't sort them into timeline. One has a shako (looking much like the us marines) and the other a bicorne....

Your picture of russian marine look like grenadiers. it's a little funny, espacially the guy with the axe, as i can't think of what use the axe have for a marine...

Shakos didn't become widespread untill after 1800 I think so I suppose if you want early Spa-Fra go with the bicorne? Could you post a link to the Spanish with the shako? Id very much like to see what they looked like.

Russian naval infantry of Baltic Fleet of 1788-1798 I also recall finding a painting once of some Russian naval officers and what looked like marines, but it had no date and it looked a little rommantized. White pants, green jackets with red cuffs if I recall correctly.

If you think of shiptextures, there are atm only 3 mods out covering that part. The AUM, the Hornblower-Mod and the 2 versions of the Sealords-mod.

If you think of the picture above, when asking for units, i have to admit, that they are not availible up to now. They will be included in the next version of the full Sealords-Mod.

It seems you tried to immitate the DLC-unit. My problem with the version of CA is, that i didn't find a referance to that model. If CA's unit is historic, i think it's from times after 1812, where my version is from. As ETW is set in 18th century, it's much out of focus. Personally i would have prefered to use an earlier version, but there is nothing from between War of independance and 1812, so the only older uniform i could find would have been the Continental Marines, but the belong to prior the War and they never serviced on board of a ship.
Historical accuracy is a problem you see in many uniforms of CA's units and i don't speak about little details here. I know that CA had to make compromises, as they don't have the manpower of a whole Modding Community, but a little more would have been possible.

The uniform the DLC US Marines wear is the uniform from 1798.

Cool, thanks for the info Jack. Is there any resource on the i-net for american uniforms of that time? I searched for hours to find an american uniforms from that periode. All i found was the one i used from 1812, that's why i go with that one. it's hard to find a good source for the uniforms directly after the independance, not have war of independance, war of 1812 or civil war, so not much from the times between wars.
