Can not run MW2 anymore

After a nostalgic feeling, i wanted to play mw2 or kingsdoms again

I insert my official gamedisk in pc and get this

SecuROM™ has determined that emulation tools like 'Alcohol 120%' or 'Daemon Tools' are running. Please be informed that SecuROM™ protected applications will not work with such tools.

Any help please?

I dont even have daemon tools on pc and the disc is original and it worked a few months ago

thats all very nice, but as head of a pc company my pc has no illegal software.
So wat do i search as i dont have a clue now?

Anti piracy is ok, but if the people who buy the cd get in the grinder, its more an inviation for them to do something illegal.

I am sure many people have this issue? I even read that other games can activate this

You say you don't have DAEMON Tools now, but have you ever installed it on this particular PC before? Say between now and the last time you played M2?

If so you mostly likely have the hidden reg keys that DAEMON uses to hide from these programs in the first place still in your registry. You'll have to remove them by hand I think because traditional reg cleaners won't find them. DAEMON might have something to help here....

I'd tell you what the keys are but I don't remember off the top of my head. Just try a search for them.

Well, I'm pretty sure it's just a malicious software installed in your computer when you were unaware.
Sadly, I have no idea how to find out.

Yeah Securom sucks. That's why many companies aer moving away from it to other equally bad software...

Sounds like a false positive to me. Unfortunately I don't see a way to easily fix it. Good luck with the re-install!

Damn i am realy mad! Not just because i bought the game the second time (first MW2 DVD was damaged, but thats was my fault). I bought the gold edition (Mw2+kingdoms)
But now this securrom is inabling me from playing.

As to you Powerbits - do you have any disk emulators or drive image software on your PC at all?

The only thing i now did was send a analysis file to securrom to help me.
They are now boss over my own PC

Well, I tried to help but I can't for the life of me think why you'd have this problem. It has to be due to some BS software installed along with SecurRom but I'm at a loss as to what or why....

Ah yes Suckurom, the ultimate downturn that a game can have. Its quite possibly the worst invention mankind has ever produced, it leaves piraters alone and attacks the good hearted customers for about 7/10th of the time. As Securom is a form of rootkit (and thus nearly impossible to be removed by anti-virus or anti-spyware) you can only get it off your computer through a series of painfull steps that have to be followed up to each letter that can involve editing the computers registry or a complete reļnstal of your Operating Console (Windows, Linux etc.)

I'm sorry my friend but the only way that you would be able to get a game back up and running that uses securom for something is to delete it. Someone mentioned that it can be easily removed someway but I forgot where sorry. Its how I wasn't able to play Spore and GTA 4 anymore . But its been almost a year now so its about time that I reļnstalled my Windows Vista anyway

The software on your machine doesn't need to be illegal, but the purpose of software may allow you to do illegal things. Given someone pointed out that any software that allows you mount an image (iso, nrg, etc) might be problematic if the computer had MagicDisc on it I'd expect it would be caught.

Give us a full list of programs you have installed on your harddrive, including operating system, antivirus, all games, all utilities, firewall, the whole works.

A few that will stop you in your tracks are, Nero, Limeware, Daemon, Alcohol, PowerISO, Sims2, Sims3, GTA San Andreas, Battlefield.

Funny thing, well not funny. I decieded to reinstall after a few months MTW2 from my legal disk set, and nothing just a blank white screen, Do these disks have a self destruct system

Discs do not self-destruct. Dirt, scratches, and other unwanted debris on the disc can keep it from being read. White screen is usually linked to something else like a video card and/or a cpu that can't handle it. What are your computer specs?

It does appear to be an issue with securecom, here's a response I found in a total war forum:

Please rename your original <MEDIEVAL2.exe> (located in the folder C:/GAMES/MEDIEVAL II TOTAL WAR/MEDIEVAL2.EXE) to <MEDIEVAL2.old>. Then, click on the link below or copy and paste it into your web browser. This will open a blank webpage and a File Download window. From the File Download window click Open, extract the new <MEDIEVAL2.exe> into the original's folder and re-start the application.

The link for the new file is:

If the problem persists, please send another analysis file of the latest executable to us.

after clicking that new execute the game runs on mw2 because he does not check the disc that runs suckrom

Now i need the same solution for kingdoms...
