"We shall take what we can. Any man of age to fight must be summoned to defend our motherland. We must at least try to contact the people of Italy to send us any help. Senators, Rome is under great danger! We MUST act now, or perish! Praetor or Consul, put the motions to vote at once!"
ooc: Alright, I buy that, my good man. *waves a little 'Go 10th'-flag and cheers*
A dog barks loudly.
Sabinus begins to stand up.
"The Dog Consul does not wish this to happen. He will veto any measure concerning raising of an armed force. On the other hand our Dictator Equestris says he will strike in 1 month, but he first wishes to feed your starving population as he has blockaded the ports."
OOC - Im gonna attack tomorrow, do you want the save to raise some green troops? Either way Im kinda bored just sitting here.
OOC -
The CONSULS shall preside over the senate. They shall have the sole power to put up motions for vote, and shall decide what topic is up for debate.
The Consuls shall lead armies at the discretion of the Senate, and may veto each others' decisions.
The Consuls may overrule the decisions of the proconsuls, and may not be tried for a crime while sitting in office. They shall serve a term of one year.
Nope, nowhere in the constitution does it say that.
ooc: It means the consuls are not allowed to veto any Senatorial motion, the are only allowed to veto each other's decisions. Your dog can veto all it wants, it's not gonna change anything.
ooc - you racist against dogs?
A distant thunder of stomping feeting and a large creaking noise is heard.
Sabinus opens his mouth with a bored expression
"I guess he's coming for us."
I've had enough of this dog making a mockery of the Republic.
Pallas strode from his chair, kicked the dog in the head, and while the thing was still dazed, smashed its head against the wall.
How long, Senators, are we to listen to the mad ramble of this one man? How long will his illegitimate command be ignored? Recall Marcellus and the Iberian legion, recall all other promagistrates and their forces. We will crush Equestris, kill every traitor in his command and hang his corpse in the forum for all to see.
Kings must not return.
ooc: how exactly will we fight this out?

ooc - well u don't have time, i just bribed LordRalgans dude to open the gates, he will make a thread about it in like an hour.
Gaius stands up to speak.
Senators, we must protect Rome. We didn't drive out the kings so they can return. I will now muster whatever forces I can find.
LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC
Aye! Send every able to the walls. let's repel those bastards back to Africa and beyond!
A man walks true the heavy wooden doors of the curia, his head is covered by a hood. He is not recognizable by any of the men who pass him as his face is covered by the shadow of his hood.
He walks to the middle of the great hall that was his home for a long period of time. The senators who where present in the curia looked surprised at this hooded man. He lay down his hood and his friends would recognize him immediately.
Consul i have received your message and assembled all men that i could get my hands on. One and a half legion is camping not far from Rome and await my return with instructions from the senate. We will protect the Republic to all cost.
Sextius bowed his head and awaited the senates reaction.
