hi everyone - i just tried working with the Battle Editor from M2TW
and i created the Multi & Singleplayer Scenario "Battle of Helms Deep".
you can play King Theoden of Rohan or one of the two Isengard
armies. it uses the normal game objects and textures. that means
there are no custom buildings on that map. but i think it
is fun playing anyhow.
> complete Historic Battle
> around 6500 units fighting at the start
> custom loading screen and info-picture
> lore-wise location, armies and names
> some elite troops under command of 'Haldir' fighting with you
> 'Eomer' arrives at the battlefield in the middle of the battle with elite cavalry units

(1) the settlement is not recognized as rohans settlement.
that means an always open gate and not-shooting towers.
!!! this is a bug from the battle editor - but maybe some modder
!!! can help me editing the descr_battle.txt to make the fort

But high elves? Wasn't it Lórien that came to aid in the movie?
When 1.2 is released, you'll also have a chance to add FOTR.
edit: Very epic!
One more suggestion: Try to fix the bridge or change it to a path, mr. AI didn't
want to use it.

The feeling was awesome and you probably did your best to recreate
Helms deep within the limits.

I would prefer Silvans instead of high elves at Helms Deep.
Some small height issues around constructions.
The AI choosed to walk beside the bridge instead of on it.

I tried to make a historical battle myself one time, my nerves failed me,
and my terror was unleashed, you did a great job and I hope that
we will see more historical battles.

Wow its nice to see that you can make custom castle matche + rep. it dosn't realy look like helms deep cant imagine what kind of restrictions you might have must be bothersome, I like the terrain escp the hill where gandalf and eomer ran down. very authentic. its hard to say what should be changed i mean we dont know the restrictions you had.
but im going for Wall everywhere and a way into the hornburg from the breach

Am I the only one to say "Elfs"?
Because... honestly that's the only mistake I can see about Helm's Deep in the movie (when it comes to lore), so if that's out you pretty much got exactly the battle in the books (except that Isengard doesn't have purely uruk-hai, but that adds to variety anyways).

i want to propose something,change the deployment zones for elves and rohan, the citadel only for rohan and the wall for the elves, and maybe a way to the elves to retreat to the citadel? and why you use the ground to make the wall? isn´t it possible to make it with real walls?
