Default Regarding stupid kings and lack of ministers

Hi everyone. I have two questions...

1- What happens if I fire all ministers, until there are zero replacements? That means that once a minister dies I will have no one to replace him, or a new minister is automatically generated?

2- When that retarded Charles of Spain dies ffs?!? Didnīt he die in 1700?! In my current game as Spain in 1715 heīs still alive

On a side note, IMHO the game should have started in 1690. More time to setup the Spanish sucession wars ( a very important war in Europeīs history) and a good excuse not to put with Charles for sooo long time!

Ha, thats nothing, I am about to finish my first Spain campain, I had him till 1760. While the randomness of the game is great, I think historical figures should be a little more complex, especially ones that were as sick as he was.

My general died age 92 a few turns ago...
He had like 9 stars so I was happy he was alive that long, but it does feel weird to keep him at the front line...

The game automatically generates new potential replacements each turn, and a full set if you hold an election/have a successful rebellion.

For me he died right around that time so if you wanna work with him till then just make sure you have good ministers. Or you could force a revolt by jacking up upper class taxes twice and get rid of him once and for all. I miss being able to kill them off with assassins

OMG thatīs bad news... well at least I know my game isnīt bugged lol.I think that is a point that need adressing... maybe give at most 10 extra years for each historical king or gentleman, but no more than that. As for the 92 year old general, thatīs what the mediterranean diet can do, pal. No strokes etc.

Also, the more I think of it, I really think 1690 is the proper starting date for the game. Did you hear that modders

Nah, I disagree with this... what's the fun in knowing when your king is going to die? It makes it more realistic that you don't know and that he could rule for many many years.

eh it would probably be too complicated and time consuming for the ETW people to program some leaders one way and others another. I still led Spain to total domination. Oh and one quick question. How long does the game last? Till 1800 or past?

It will be a problem when the game finally gets a 1vs1 campaign. Iīm pretty sure having to put up with Charles until 1740 would be a major pain in the ass. Iīm not asking for historical death dates, but make it slightly more predictable, like giving each character at most 5 extra years. 10 turns make a huge difference in the game IMHO.

Just go ahead and cause a revolution, they r easy to cause to get rid of Charles.... then go ahead as a republic and piss off the middle class to become a constitutional monarchy, and then finally piss off the nobles while a const monarchy to get a monarchy w/o charles ( this will take 9 turns and france will de-ally with u out of worries)

Sorry Bernhardt but I totally disagree with your idea. Factoring in that a king/queen/president/prime minister/whatever should die within 10 years of their actual historical death, just takes away from the realism of the game. I know what I said there was strange but think about it from a realistic gameplay point of view rather than an historical one and it makes sense. If you know roughly when a leader will die, it's like knowing when the French will revolt or when the USA will declare itself independent. These are all things that are variable for the sake of realistic gameplay.

I still have Charles at the age of 75. It's the late 1730's so you might have to put up with him for a while.

WTF he was probably more than a bit demented lol.

Actually, my biggest concern is the forthcoming multiplayer campaign. Ok, that -20 diplomacy penalty might not be very important now, cuz itīs still easy to beat the game... but what will happen in a Spain versus UK match-up? When youīre actually playing against someone with the same skill level as you? And with a fixed diplomacy model? Of course that will screw up the balance in the game.

I caused a rebellion and killed him off on turn 6. He was destroying my economy.

Water shapes its course according to the nature of the ground over which it flows; the soldier works out his victory in relation to the foe whom he is facing. Therefore, just as water retains no constant shape, so in warfare there are no constant conditions. He who can modify his tactics in relation to his opponent and thereby succeed in winning, may be called a heaven-born captain".

Don't forget Rooie that general Wolfe was supposedly mad too. However he was supposed to have been really good which explains why his king hoped he would bite all the other generals.
