When a nation forgets her skill in war, when her religion becomes a mockery, when the whole nation becomes a nation of money-grabbers, then the wild tribes, the barbarians drive in... Who will our invaders be? From whence will they come?”
― Robert E. Howard
Yes it will for some of the imperial legions.
Basically what we're trying to do for RS2 is almost to do a Roman army sampler from 200BC-150AD. So you'll see most of the helmet types from that period....montefortino, various types of coolus, various subtypes of imperial gallic and imperial italic, Weiler cavalry types, and so on. Legionaries either have chainmail or segmentata, consistent with the period their helmet would have been used - later types of helmet get segmentata, earlier types get chainmail. We've also used a whole load of different gladii and scabbard models and these too fit with the era of the unit.
Auxiliary infantry are equipped with chainmail or scale and a number of different helmet types including coolus, imperial gallic and one or two of the Auxiliary types (though not the later type that's used in RS1.5 and is outside our timeframe).
So basically what you'll be seeing is a lot more variation between legions and between auxiliaries than you do in RS1.5.
So actually the legions represent that whole timescheme? Some will be augustean and others Flavian and others...?
Please note that not every legionary in *a* certain era would have worn a segmentata. Chain mail was still in use, also with the legionaries.
There won't be any legions wearing squamata's?
Vale,
That sort of thing...the latest legions we have in terms of historical date of foundation are Flavia Felix and Flavia Firma. No legions wearing squamata, though a number of auxiliary legions do, both infantry and mounted.
*cough cough auxiliary cohorts/alae cough cough*

that's the RS 2.0 equivalent of "Tits or GTFO" - it doesn't get you what you were hoping for, just evil looks from everyone else.
