RTR falls down to Win

Hi there. Ive got a problem. Somwhere around year 59 b.c. after every turn my game falls down back to windows. Ive tried to reinstall it several times but it did not help. Ive got Rome Total War platinum with Rome total realism on it. Originial DVD. No crack. Thanks

Do you have the -show_err switch on your shortcut target? Are there any error messages with the CTD?

It`s the CTD that happens with all RTW mods that change the roman factions and keep the vanilla year system. Might have something to do with a hardcoded civil war trigger. If you are using RTRPE you can`t do anything about it unless you start a new campaign. If you`re using RTR 6 Gold you can use RomeSage to edit the year and get past the CTD. The reason this works fine with Gold is that it`s based on RTW v1.2 and the year editor works well for that.

Hopefully, you are running your RTR PE through a shortcut. If you right mouse click it and look at properties.

In the 'shortcut target' box there will be something like;

"C:\Program Files\Activision\RTR VII TIC\RomeTW-BI.exe" -show_err -mod:RTRPE

If an error is trapped by the code (a missing file usually but others are trapped as well) you will get an error message appear as a pop up window on exit of the game.

However, as floron80 has posted there is a problem with the triggering of the Marian Reforms which is in-built into games (not every game / campaign suffers from this).
