The Centaur
Centaurs are a half-humanoid, half-horse, war-like tribal race. They abound in central and southern Kalimdor, primarily in Desolance and the Barrens, where they engage in constant war against other centaur and tauren tribes. They are savagery and brutality incarnate.\n\nCenarius, Lord of the Forest and patron god of all druids had three children, Zaetar, the Dryad and the Centaur. He grew to despise his siblings in jealousy of all the living creatures that his father loved so much. The Centaur embraced all the hatred and savagery in him and attacked his father in a blind rage, thinking that that way he would force him to love him the most.\n\nCenarius then cursed his son, stripping him of his beauty and powers, leaving him only with his hatred and anger. The Centaur fled in rage and swore a blood feud on all the creatures of the world.\n\nThe five Centaur tribes are his brood and they carry his anger, and are very destructive. Like their father they hate all of creatures of the world.
The Dark Iron
The dwarven Dark Iron clan was ruled by Sorcerer-thane Thaurissan who with his wife the powerful sorceress Modgud wanted to seize control of Ironforge from the Bronzebeard clan and the Wildhammer clan.\n\nAt first the Dark Iron dwarves inhabited the most deepest and darkest crevices of Ironforge. But they where unsuccessful in wresting control of Ironforge from the Bronzebeard clan and Wildhammer clan during the War of the Three Hammers. Thaurissan and his Dark Irons vowed revenge against Ironforge.\n\nHe took his followers south and founded a city, which he named after himself, within the beautiful Redridge Mountains. Despite years of prosperity, he and his wife tried to take over Ironforge and Grim Batol whit two great armies. Thaurissan was forced to retreat at Ironforge, Modgud had been more successful but she was killed and the army disbanded.\n\nAs the combined forces of Ironforge and Grim Batol marched on Thaurissan he made the greatest mistake that his people will never forget. He awoke Ragnaros the Firelord, immortal lord of all fire elementals, who had been banished by the Titans when the world was young.\n\nThough Thaurissan was killed by the forces he had unleashed, his surviving brethren were ultimately enslaved by Ragnaros and his elementals. They remain his servants to this day.
The Drakari
The Drakkari tribe is a tribe of ice trolls that founded the nation of Zul'Drak in eastern Northrend, with the city of Gundrak as their capital. They seem to be a hardy people, persisting through hostilities from the empire of Azjol-Nerub and now the Scourge.\n\nUnlike some other troll tribes, a group of ice trolls still retains a portion of its kingdom: the Drakkari live in Zul’Drak in Northrend. These are larger and stronger than ice trolls elsewhere, and indeed almost all other trolls, averaging 8 feet in height. Regardless of its combat skills, the Drakkari tribe respects the might of the Lich King and does its best to avoid the growing forces of the Scourge.\n\nEven so, the Lich King has raised a number of ice trolls into undeath and forced them to serve him. War between the Scourge and Drakkari may be inevitable, but only a great and powerful leader may hope for victory against the grim Scourge.
The Horde
Orcs:\n\nLong ago, the noble orcish race was corrupted by the Burning legion and transformed into the merciless, destructive Horde. Lured to the world of Azeroth, the orcs were forced to make war upon the human kingdoms of Stormwind and Lordaeron in what would become known as the First and Second Wars. Though the Horde nearly succeeded in annihilating humanity, it ultimately devoured itself from within and collapsed.\n\nThe defeated orcs spent many years within guarded prisons, unable to function without the prospect of conquest and warfare. After many years, a visionary young warciehf rose to lead his people in their darkest hour. Fittingly enough, the young orc’s name was Thrall.\n\nUnder his rule, the orcs freed themselves from the chains of demonic corruption and embraced their shamanistic heritage. At the behest of a strange prophet, Thrall led his people to the ancient lands of Kalimdor.
Lordaeron
Lordaeron is the noble kingdom of humans in northern Azeroth. The kingdom's founding is full of war and death. It began when the large kingdom of Arathor fell and the seven nations arised, Lordaeron being one of them. The name "Lordaeron" itself comes from three different languages. "Lorn" (dwarvish) means land. "Daer" (common) means people. "Ronae" (thalassian) means peaceful.\n\nIn the first war (warcraft 1: humans vs. orcs) the independant kingdom of
Stormwind was sacked by the "old" horde, causing major loss of life and damage to the city. Refugees from Stormwind saw the nation of Lordaeron as a reliable refuge place. Led by Lorde Anduin Lothar, the refugees started to populate the nation. Later, in the second war, Lord Anduin Lothar convinced the seven nations, the kingdom of Quel'Thalas, and the remnants of Khaz Modan to create the Alliance of Lordearon.\n\nThe command of this Alliance was apointed to
the original rulers of the nation of Lordearon, the house of Menethil. The current head of the house of Menethil is King Terenas Menethil II. the King and Lord Lothar was able to push back the horde, all the way to the dark portal. The armies of the Alliance were able to destroy the dark portal and close shut the enemies rienforcments. However, Lother perished assaulting Blackrock Spire. The remaining orcs in Azeroth were rounded up and put into internment camps,
where they would be used as easy labour.\n\nTo fund these internment camps, King Terenas raised taxes. Unrest came to the Alliance. This caused the human nations of Gilneas and Stromgarde to succede from Lordaeron. Worse, the young orc named Thrall rallied the imprissoned orcs and lead them out of Azeroth via stolen human warships. The Kingdoms of Khaz Modan, Quel'Thlas and Stormwind all went their seperate ways as well. Clever diplomacy by King Terenas managed to
keep the remaining human nations part of Lordaeron.
Now, a new threat has emerged...\n\nRumors of a plauge in the northlands is causing havoc. The plauge is not normal... it's as if it's... magical. The Plauge is causing the dead to become the UNDEAD. But Lordaeron's armies are strong and expeirienced from driving off the orcs. If Lordaeron could best the rampaging, bloodlusting horde, then it can surely best this new threat from the undead.
The Kingdom of Azjol Nerub
The armies of the arachnic Nerubians are bolstered by their beetle brethren. These carrion beetles follow the armies of the Nerubians, hoping for conquest and their fitting spoils of war: Fresh corpses to feast on and to lay their eggs in.\n\nThese beetles don’t pose of much of threat themselves, but the Nerubians can easily recruit them by masses if the situation is dire, and their sheer numbers alone may be enough to overwhelm the enemy.
The Burning Legion
The world of Azeroth has caused severe head aches for the Legions current commander, Archimonde. After their bitter defeat at the hands of the night elves, the failure of the orcs and worst of all the disapearence of the Legions creator; Sargaras, has left the demonic Legion battered, but it is still far from broken, or dismayed.\n\nThe little planet of Azeroth has managed something that many worlds before never had, stopping their demonic invasion. But Archimonde
has no intention on giving up Azeroth. His second in command, Kil'Jeaden has created the Lich King, whose undead armies will wipe out all the races that could stand a chance at stoping the Legion. Once this is complete, the Burning Legion will descend upon Azeroth once more, and this time the annoying little world will fall!\n\nAt present the Legion has a small presence in Azeroth and the Scourge should already be carrying out their mission. However they must not rely to heavily on the Scourge - Ner'Zhul cannot be trusted with remaining obiedient. Summoning Archimonde and Kil'Jeaden should be the Legions first priority.\n\nThey must also focus on establishing their armies in Azeroth in preparation for their assault on Nordassil, The World Tree. If everything goes according to plan, then there will be no one left to help the night elves as the Legion marches to victory!
The Kingdom of Quel'Thalas
Many centuries ago, the high elves were the night elven "Highborne", who used and experimented with magic. However, after the war of the ancients and the great sundering they were shunned by their night elven bretheren for their use of magic.\n\nSentanced to exile they fled east across the sea to Quel'Thalas, where they founded the city of Silvermoon. With them, they brought water from the well of eternity and with it they created the Sunwell, a font of great magical energy, which flowed through the very blood of the high elves.\n\nHowever the native Amani trolls did not take kindly to their new neihbours and began a campaign to drive out the high elves. Gravely outnumbered, the high elves made a deal with the humans to the south, in exchange for military aid against the Amani, the high elves tought the humans how to use magic. With their new ally the high elves defeated the Amani invasion, but this was not to be the last time humans and high elves fought side by side.\n\nWhen the orcish horde came, their bloodthirsty rampage took them as far as the very gates of Quel'Thalas. The high elves joined with the humans and dwarves in the Alliance of Lordaeron and drove the orcs back to Dreanor.\n\nNow, it seams that the high elves have entered an era of peace and prosperity. The house Sunstrider currently holds the throne and they are still on good terms with the kingdom of Lordaeron. Though the apearence of the undead is disturbing,\n\nThe armies of Quel'Thalas are skilled and they have some of the world's most skilled mages. Quel'Thalas is not the largest or most populace kingdom in Azeroth, so maintaining good relations with their old alliance bretheren would seem wise. So long as the energies of the Sunwell flow through their veins who could hope to invade their lands in the face of their magical furry?
The Scourge
The Scourge was (and still is) a vast army of the undead created by the Lich King — the being formerly known as the orc shaman Ner'zhul.\n\nHe was the Warchief of Draenor, the clans that remained uncaptured after the Dark Portal was destroyed in Azeroth. He was tricked into making a Blood Pact with Kil'jaeden the Deceiver; one that bound the orcs into the service of the Burning Legion. Following the Second War, he opened several portals on Draenor in an attempt to seek out new lands to escape to and conquer, but was immediately captured by Kil'jaeden. His mortal form was destroyed and his spirit was transformed into the spectral Lich King, which was then encased in the mystical ice of the Frozen Throne atop the Icecrown glacier in distant Northrend.\n\nUnder the control of the Burning Legion, the Scourge's mission was to spread terror and destruction across the world in anticipation of the Legion's inevitable invasion. The Lich King created the terrible Plague of Undeath, which he sent southward into human lands. It caused countless humans to fall prey to Ner'zhul's mental control and life-draining sickness every day, swelling the ranks of the already-considerable Scourge.\n\nThough Ner'zhul and his Undead Scourge are bound to the will of the Burning Legion and the Lich King is constantly striving to free himself and gain vengeance upon the demons for dismembering his body and damning him so completely.
And he's getting closer and closer to achieving his goal, but first the lands of Lordaeron must fall!
Stormwind
After the noble kingdom of Arathor fell, what was left of the Arathi bloodline went south and founded the kingdom of Stormwind. Being one of the sevennations, Stormwind was the fastest to flourish. Stormwind Cities' walls were already thick, and their garrison ready for any invaders. Until the dark portal was opened, huge forces of bloodlusted orcs thirsty for human blood came.\n\nThe countryside was first attacked by the "old" horde. More and more people were fleeing to the capital of Stormwind city. Then the day came, the horde at the gates! The garrison did all what they could, but more and more orcs keeped on coming. The city was overrun. The horde had no interests in the city, they sacked it and almost completley destoryed it. King Llane Wrynn was killed during the invasion of the countryside by the shadow councils' assassin; Garona Halforcen. The survivors of Stormwind fled andtook refuge in the nation of Lordaeron.\n\nLord Anduin Lothar (the last direct descendant of the arathi bloodline) led them to Lordaeron safely with the young son of King Llane Wrynn, Prince Varian Wrynn. Lothar convinced the other nations and the other races on Azeroth to create the Alliance of Lordaeron. The brave armies of the Alliance marched upon the horde and fought for their very survivial. They succeded in pushing back the horde but at a price. The founder- Lothar died in action at Blackrock Spire. With the orc threat dealt with, Stormwind could prosper again. Varian Wrynn took the throne and rebuilt the kingdom. Without a direct threat the members of the Alliance have gone seperate ways, including Stormwind.\n\nNow, as the ruler of Stormwind, it is your task to make this kingdom prosper and thrive. Stormwind is surrounded by expansion opportunities. The trolls to the south in Stranglethorn Vale are weak and un-organized. To the east through the deadwind pass lies more unclaimed territory. Presently, the only real threat to Stormwind are the Dark Iron Dwarves to the north, but the mountain passes of the Redridge Mountains make good choke points to quel an invasion. However, sometimes the greatest threat to a kingdom can come from within....
Theramore
During Lordaeron's fight against the scourge, the young sorceress; Lady Jaina Proudmoore was sent by Antonidas to the Northlands only to meet a strange man who can transform into a raven, who calls himself the prophet (who was actually the last guardian of Tirisfal, Medivh).\n\nThe prophet told Jaina that the end of Lordaeron is nigh, and that she should lead her people to the western lands of Kalimdor. Jaina believed the prophet and tried to convince as many people as she could to follow her to the new continent of Kalimdor. Though most declined the offer, a few humans, elves and dwarves accepted and came along with Jaina. She took as many ships as she could and departed for Kalimdor.\n\nJust passing the maelstrom, she landed on a rocky isle called Theramore, there she founded the nation of Theramore. As a tiny and new island nation, it is wise to make good relations with nations around you and expand into the rebel towns quickly, for there are rumors that the young orc warchief Thrall has led his orcs to kalimdor as well.
The Night Elves
The night elves are the direct descendants of dark trolls. This peace loving and fiercely independent tribe took up residence at the Well of Eternity. The magic contained within elevated their forms to match their graceful spirits, completely transforming them into highly intelligent and virtually immortal beings, forever changing them into the night elves known today.\n\nThe reclusive Night Elves were the first race to awaken in the world of Azeroth. These shadowy, immortal beings were the first to study magic and let it loose throughout the world nearly ten thousand years before the First War (Warcraft 1). The Night Elves' reckless use of magic drew the Burning Legion into the world and led to a catastrophic war between the two titanic races. The Night Elves barely managed to banish the Legion from the world, but their beautiful homeland was shattered and drowned by the sea.\n\nEver since, the Night Elves refused to use magic for fear that the dreaded Legion would return. The Night Elves closed themselves off from the rest of the world and remained hidden atop their sacred mountain of Hyjal for many thousands of years.\n\nAs a race, Night Elves are typically honorable and just, but they are very distrusting of the 'lesser races' of the world. They are nocturnal by nature and their shadowy powers often elicit the same distrust that they have for their mortal neighbors.\n\nTheirs is a most ancient heritage, which has shaped them into a very self-sufficient and self-conscious people that often display strong streaks of isolationism. With the Well of Eternity once located at the very center of their civilization, the night elves were the first and the greatest wielders of magic, putting the craft to use with unmatched brilliance and inspiration.\n\nHowever, the arrogance of their highest caste, the Highborne, caused an increase in the reckless use of magic that the Well of Eternity granted which, ultimately, got The Burning Legion's attention to Azeroth. The Highborne fell under the thrall of Sargeras, and an apocalyptic confrontation between the remaining night elves and the invading Legion was set into motion that became known as the War of the Ancients (WC3).
