[Broken] Create a slight Starcraft 2 Text Effect (PS)

I know it's very expensive and i know that all of you could leech it off the web But that's not my Problem to solve so here is one of my first Text-translated Photoshop Tutorials (i only give support on version CS 1-4) on twcenter. The Pictures were shot in my german Photoshop CS3 Software, if you have Question about Names on the Interface you will see on the Screens ask me.

At first we take a look on the Effect and Image we will create in the following Steps, it should be easy and some way speedy but with this little and nice outcome you know one of the most used Text Style by Blizzards Webgraphic Artists (in 2008). It can be used in Weblayouts, Signatures and Avatars.


Outcome:


We begin with a canvas size of 400x200px, it's free to scale, so if you want to make a Wallpaper of it, make it. (for example 1024x768).

With the Paintbucket tool we fill the whole area black to avoid a screaming white and eye flashing Workspace.



In the next step we will put a Text field in with a free font called "Federation" it can be downloaded here

If you installed the Font on the right place (mostly: C:Windows/Fonts) you can continue.

You can choose your own Name and Text you type in there, i've used "Terraner" (It's German for "Terrans") If finished it should look like this:



As you can see the now created Effect doesn't look like the finished Work and a bit underfed... But just follow and we will end up with the shown Solution

Because of the Text sfx only ther will only be some Layer Styles i will show now (I hope you cn imagine what it would like in Englisch language *g*):








After this few steps you can add some of the Layer Style: Drop Shadow if you like so it will give the text more depth. It should look like this:



And: Here we are. I've added some own created Terran Logo, if you are addicted to do the same thing i'am thinking of doing it on a additional Tutorial in this Thread of course. But for now it's only the Text Style.

With some Modding you can create some other good looking Text Layers alike the World of Warcraft ones.
