No need to PM Legio, the post that Jom made stands. Beyond what he posted there, anyone running around a "king of TWC" looks like a legit staff member to newbies, which is completely unacceptable. Only one person gets to say anything is "xx of TWC".

If the choice is backlash or improved site performance and reducing of the number of slowdown, 503s, and such then we will close what thread we need and reduce what post counts we need to as well.

Is it helping? My page load times are still horrendous and sometimes it takes up to three minutes for my post to be posted successfully. The benefits, if any, seem negligible. From what I can tell, and I've given it a few days, nothing has changed in terms of site performance and now there are also people grumbling about having lost post count numbers.

I also note with more than a little disgust that threads in the RPG section are being swallowed up by this new policy.

Well I honestly have no knowledge on how the site runs, but we cant exactly be upset when an attempt to correct a problem goes wrong (cough cough BP cough cough) I've seen the Load Time get progressively worse, but thats what happens when you get a Over cramped Server or something... What can we honestly do though, leave all the posts and hope for the Best

I feel like im cutting Down my own position but the RPG section has only Recently sprung to life with so much Fervor in so Many Rp's the last time I can Recall so Many Rp's was when we neglected to Remove them due to un-use.

It's a work in progress, and we have our hands full. Have some patience, I'm afraid I can't just pull a solution out of my hat, and neither can anyone else.

I should point out this really isn't a moderation thing either, it's a technical issue. If you don't have anything useful to add, then don't comment at all.

It wasn't until threads started to shut down and moderators started removing things from different forums. I'm mostly concerned with the theft of RPG threads at the moment, however. It is obvious that the current policies are not helping the problem, so try something else and in the meantime fix the damage wrought by those failed policies. Nobody is going to blame you for trying different things, but when something doesn't work out, as clearly this solution is not, stop doing it and restore the threads.

The big threads are still a problem, it's been tested and determined. They're probably not coming back, no matter what happens. Loading one can flat out cause a 503, I've tested this myself. However, there is simply multiple problems.
