    Default Antesignani, camillan or post-marian?

I want to talking about this roman elite unit: isn't it post-marian?

I read in wikipedia that artesignani appears after Gaius marius reform (107 AD).
Ante=before, Signus=standard, so antesignani are thinking for fight out of legions main line and become elite units for their superior equipment and valour in battle.
They appears also in trajan column in Rome (fighting against barbarians)...

Also in EB mod antesignani appears only with marian reform....
So my right question is : it s true that antesignani already exist (like type of units) before marian reforms?

I ask after saw antesignani in PI (camillan era)...

This it not a special type of unit, like the Marian legionary. He's just one of the Roman infantry types, and not necessarily exactly the type of unit that would be depicted on the Trajan's column.

"If ye love wealth greater than liberty,
the tranquility of servitude greater than
the animating contest for freedom, go
home from us in peace. We seek not
your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch
down and lick the hand that feeds you,
and may posterity forget that ye were
    our countrymen."

Antesignani, is the name of hastati and principes lines, standards of one legion are between the line of principes and triarii, It derives the name Antesignani. I believe Luciano create this unit to simulate that not all the soldiers have the same number of javelins, I do not remember if this is the first line or the last that had more pila than the others.
