    Default Unsupported Resolution Problem

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I couldn't find anything on it with the search function.
Anyways, since it's impossible to get any help from Steam or Sega, it appears I'm damn near out of luck.

I installed ETW on my computer and loaded it up. My system is slightly above the minimum specs recommended to play the game. At no point is this the problem. I actually played it for about 15 minutes smoothly and decided that since I have a 42" big screen for a monitor, I might as well try a higher resolution. Long story short I accidentally clicked the wrong resolution, one my computer/TV does not support. I waited for about 30 seconds for the screen to go back to the previous setting, since this is what most games do. No good.

Now every time I load ETW I see "No signal" on my screen and I can't change the resolution outside of the game and obviously I can't change it inside the game. I've uninstalled everything including Steam and when I reinstall I get the same issue. I'm getting a new computer in about 3 months (a real monster) and I was wondering if this issue is saved to my Steam account or in a file that is hiding from me on my computer. If it's the Steam account I'm again screwed since I would need a new cd key to get a new profile and ETW game loaded.

    Thanks in advance guys!

    Go to:
    C:\Users\[your username here]\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts

In that folder, there should be a file called:

    "preferences.empire_script"

    Open it and look for:

x_res and y_res(should be 3rd and 4th line on the file)

The numbers after both should be the resolution the game is in. Switch it to the resolution that your monitor supports, and you should be good to go.

BTW, the location of the folder is hidden. So make sure you turned on "see hidden files" in folder options. Also, the location I posted is for Vista. The location is different if you're using XP, but the name of the file you're looking for is the same. So just search for the file using the search feature in your PC if you have XP.

Go here if you don't know how to view hidden folders:
