    Default Convert City to Castle and Castle to city for TA 1.1

    Just a little mod here to reintroduce castle and city conversions for anyone interested.
    The only file that is altered on install is export_descr_buildings so back this file up before installation, other files that are added are not used by standard TA 1.1
    download for winrar version http://www.filefactory.com/file/ag8184g/n/Third_Age_rar
    download for zip version http://www.filefactory.com/file/ag81852/n/Third_Age_zip

    Unzip or Unrar the file to a safe location and then copy and paste the Third_Age folder into the mods folder of you M2TW install, thats all you need to do for TA 1.1 .


    Instructions for using this mod with other submods for TA 1.1

    If you want to use this mod for any submod to TA 1.1 that alters the export_descr_buildings file it is very easy to do.
    Just Unzip or unrar the files to a safe location , Now backup your original export_descr_buildings file in case you make an error and then delete the export_descr_buildings file before copying and pasting it into your mods folder.

    Once done you need to copy the following text

    Now paste that text into the export_descr_buildings file that your game uses making sure you copy over the similar text (Tip - this text can be found at the end of the file).

    So with this Submod you can make Edoras a citadel and helms deep a huge city and vice versa?

    you know, he has a good point. you should remove the ability to convert citadels, to avoid the posibility of unique strat model loss

    Good point and very easily fixed but why take out an option that you dont have to use? it would force people who want to change a castle into a city to do it before the castle turned into a citadel.
    IMO its just best to leave the option open.

    So just a little warning to folk that if you dont want to lose the unique graphic for minas tirith or isengard or any other unique settlement then dont convert those settlements.

    i have never seen the ai convert one of their settlements so it doesn't really matter

    Just ran a little experiment, and even if a unique settlement such as minas tirith is converted into a city the graphic stays the same so its now become a moot point

    Nice! Although having a limit at castles/large towns for conversions would probably better (it should be damn near impossible to rip up the stone walls of a city or fortress)

    Also if Minas Tirith was, say, a large city and was taken over by Mordor then converted to a castle and upgraded, the graphic would change to that of a Orcish settlement. But luckily this isn't the case for most cities with their own graphic since they are already huge cities/citadels

    I have now made the mod so that citadels cannot be converted, this is because i had problems with el cids unique buildings mod (when i converted to a city i lost all the unique buildings). huge and large cities can never convert to citadels. So if you want to convert a castle to a city you must now do it before the castle grows to a citadel, and if you want to convert a town to a castle you must do it before it becomes a city.
