The first XC campaign challenge starts!

Ok, this is a campaign contest designed to both provide a showcase of the latest XC features as well as insights for bug-testing purposes.

Here are the rules:

1) Pick the gauls, horde in the first few turns, travel with your mighty stacks of doom all the way to Patala and settle yourself in India

2) You are allowed to sack settlements at will as well as recruit whatever units and mercs you feel before and during the horde travel but NOT to settle anywhere else

3) From your new starting point try and fullfill the faction objectives for the campaign

4) In order to keep this open and not too frustrating let's keep difficulty to M/M, reduced bonuses are suggested but not required

5) No cheating allowed other than toggle_fow

6) Lots of screenshots are welcome!

The first to reach the goal will win a surprise prize!*

*(don't expect cash of course but let's say the winner will leave a mark into the next XC)

Zarax, were you thinking of using the Senate campaign or not? And what about rebelling Parthia and Bactria?

That's all optional, as it is a gaulish campaign it would make relatively little difference.

Ok, so other than using the latest edition, everything is optional.

Well, the rules are in the first post, there's no point in restricting the players more than that.

Besides, Carthaginian senate wouldn't be a factor due to campaign scope and given the time needed to arrive into the interested area the player won't really be a factor for Baktria and Parthia at start.

The beauty of the campaign is that the time takes to migrate will give AI much needed time to develop, thus making them less vulnerable to classic blitztrieg tactics...

Try out the new patch I just uploaded, it breaks save compatibility, but it should fix much of your problems.

Hording should help you survive, just avoid picking too many fights until you're there.

Do you think I should go through Asia minor or through Scythia?

Asia minor would be the historical path but I went through scythia being careful to not upset the local HA armies as they would have made pincushions out of my early stacks---

Nope... BI only, but it's worth it especially if you play as seleucids.
